While I’m snug as a bug in a rug wrapped up and warm next to the fireplace with my Macbook, my friend Dennis Byron of HipHopEnquirer is outside thowing snowballs in front of Atlanta’s Justin’s Restaurant on Peachtree Street.
All you transplants… please feel free to join him.? But you already know we ain’t used to this ish, so I’ll pass.

Atlanta was hit with it’s first major snowstorm of the New Year last night and as I type, the city is covered in about 5 inches of snow (and counting).
Hours before any snow fell, hundreds of flights in and out of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport were canceled, leaving hundreds of people stranded and sleeping on the airport floor.
By about 5pm Gov. Sonny Perdue declared a State of Emergency for Georgia, ordering all available resources to be ready for action. A little before 8pm, the downtown Atlanta area began getting a steady snowfall and that was all she wrote!

Raven-Symone is speaking out about her new smaller frame.
The former Disney star, 25, who once was content with being “thick and fabulous,” showed off her slimmer figure at Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards. Raven, who wore a cleavage-bearing, all-black leather ensemble with thigh-high Louboutin boots, says she was never one to consider herself unattractive, even when she was still heavy.
?I thought I looked fabulous before and nobody else did. So, whatever. Actually, now I wear bigger clothes because I don?t like the way people stare at me. I liked it before.

My good Judy Drama Dupree hit me up online with this “GA VOICE” cover shot featuring the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a NOH8 campaign pose.
In case you don’t know, the NOH8 campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8” painted on one cheek in protest.
When I first saw the image I was set aback and I don’t know why. It didn’t “offend” me but it did make me feel “some kinda way”.
Although Dr. King stood for non-violent protests during the civil rights movement, he never addressed issues of homosexuality in any of his speeches. The fact that King never left any conclusive indication of his opinion on homosexuality has often left many wandering as to what King’s views on the issue of Gay rights would have been today.
Over the years, the King family has been divided in their views of homosexuality and gay marriage. While King’s late wife Coretta Scott-King supported gay marriage publicly and was even a speaker at a 1996 Gay Pride festival in Atlanta, another family member publicly campaigned against it, even going so far as to call gay marriage ‘genocide’.
I personally believe that King would have spoken against any issues of discrimination. Whether it be racial or gender related seems irrelevant. But… (and there is a “BUT”) since he’s not alive to confirm his opinions either way, should we really be making assumptions?

A man discovers his nephew is fakin’ a gangster lifestyle online. So what does he do? He gives him an old school “A”zz whoopin on video and forces the nephew to post it on his Facebook page!
This for all y’all people on facebook… y’all parents… you need to stop all that senseless crime, that gangbang sh*t! This my f*ckin nephew right here. He ain’t no gang member.
We don’t come from that sh*t… !
The nephew then addresses the camera and states… “all that’s fake” while his uncle pulls out a belt and replies, “but this “A”zz whoopin ain’t gone be fake!”
Unk proceeds to issue his nephew a beating right in front of the webcam… preserving their family honor while making him proclaim that he’s not a gangbanger.? Unk ends it all with… “now put this on yo f*ckin wall..”? Classic!
