The popular rapper proclaimed himself the “king of hip-hop” earlier this year after proclaiming to have taught Drake everything he knows.
The viral moment seemed to have jump started Soulja’s lagging career but less than a month later he was under investigation for kidnapping (click HERE if you missed that).
Now Soulja, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was just smacked with a sentence of 240 days in jail and 265 days of community service for violating his probation.

Soulja appeared in court Tuesday (April 30) where he was smacked with a sentence of 240 days in jail and 265 days of community service for violating his probation.
The explanation wasn’t enough to convince the judge to let him go… instead, Soulja will start serving his sentence right away but with credit for 40 days served.
The judge told Soulja he was originally considering sentencing him to 2 years in state prison but decided to give him some leniency. The judge also acknowledged that Soulja’s missed out on business opportunities while behind bars.
As we reported … the rapper was taken into custody earlier this month after the judge said he failed to do his court-ordered community service and even conspired to falsify evidence he had completed it.
Soulja’s troubles stem from an incident last February where his Agoura Hills was raided after a reported domestic incident. Cops had initially gone to the home to investigate a claim by one of the rapper’s ex-girlfriends that Soulja tied her up and held her captive in his garage, however they found ammunition during the search.
It was the possession of the ammunition that sparked Soulja’s current situation as it is a violation of his probation from a weapons case that dates back to 2014.
