The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired the 5th episode of season 9 last night (December 4, 2016).

In this week’s episode, titled ‘shade grenade’ it seems the popular reality show is turning ‘lemons’ to lemonade by focusing on a few real life situations.

Bravo synopsis:

Reeling from the news that her son, Kairo has run into trouble with the law, Sheree leans on Bob for support. Kenya and Matt’s relationship continues to spiral downward and at his surprise party, Kenya shocks guests with news about the guest of honor.

While Cynthia and Noelle begin to look for a new home, Mama Joyce surprises Kandi and Todd with a special evening. On her way to visit Apollo in prison, Phaedra receives a disturbing phone call that turns her world upside down.

After last week’s baby daddy drama, Kandi and Todd go the romantic route with Mama Joyce in the driver’s seat!

Ewwww! What a weird threesome that would be!

Kandi’s mom takes the initiative to save her daughter’s marriage as she plans a romantic get-away for her Kandi and Todd… in their guest house.

Todd has been working none stop to get the OLG restaurant up and running and apparently Mama Joyce has been noticing that Kandi needs a little sexual healing so she pulls out all the extra Bedroom Kandi products and decorates the guest house as a sex dungeon for Kandi & Todd.

One would think that Mama Joyce would take baby Ace down the street to her own house while Todd & Kandi are getting their freak on, but she stays put in the main house and even spots Kandi in her new intimate attire (which she asks to borrow after Kandi uses it… ewwww (again)!

Whatever the case, Kandi & Todd make the best of their situation and give Bravo camera’s a show.

Kenya and her latest invisible boyfriend…

Kenya Moore plans an elaborate day of activities for Matt Jordan’s birthday, however Jordan clearly had other plans.

I swear the jokes write themselves when it comes to Kenya and her onscreen relationships.

In one scene, Kenya and Cynthia take a class on cake decorating because Kenya plans to give him a cake decorated with the Gucci logo. She also plans to give him a replacement to the Gucci belt that he lost.

While she and Cynthia are enjoying their quality time together, Kenya gets the bright idea to share Matt’s birthday with a few other couples (Cynthia is excluded now that she’s getting fake divorced from Peter).

Kenya invites Kandi & Todd, as well as R.L. and Lena Chenier for a 4-wheeler excursion for Matt’s birthday but wen the day finally comes, Kenya is joined by her cousin, Chef Che Moore, as ‘Matt’s stand-in’.

Kenya tells the couples that her ‘date’ decided visit his sister in California for his birthday instead of spending it with her.

While Che brings along food hoping that Kandi will let it go, it doesn’t quite work as Kandi bluntly inquires about Matt’s absence from an event that was planned on his behalf.

Even Todd takes a dig when he asks if they should all call him and sing ‘Happy Birthday’— a request which Kenya quickly turns down.

Kenya continues making excuses for Matt’s behavior and attributes it to him being young and volatile, whatever the case… he’s certainly ‘not that into’ her if he’s spending his birthday away while she’s planning birthday activities.

*sigh* Poor Kenya. Maybe her next employee will do better.

Every ‘housewife’ needs a home…right?

Porsha Williams has been living the single life in her rented mansion and she shares with her mom and sister that she’s considering purchasing a larger home.

It makes sense. Why spend all that money renting when you can be paying for an investment? Right?

But Porsha’s reasoning is a bit different. She tells her family that she wants a bigger home because she’s THINKING of starting a family.

[Sidebar: “Build it and they will come.” At least that’s what God told Noah about the ark.]

Meanwhile, Cynthia and Noelle go house hunting and she apparently finds the home of her dreams.

It seems that Bailey wants a fresh start away from all of the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta so she settles on a beautiful home on the lake.

Cynthia is ready to move on from Peter, but apparently he’s still in and out of town and has now decided to ‘mentor’ Todd Tucker on his new restaurant venture.

When karma knocks, let it in…

Sheree and Bob are forced to face the fact that their college bound son is involved with a sketchy crowd.

Kairo Whitfield was arrested for DUI in West Georgia back in April of 2016, way before RHOA had even begun taping.

Now you know Sheree was not going to pass up an opportunity to use her son’s embarrassing situation months later after she’d secured her spot on the show.

As presented on this week’s episode, Kairo, a student of Morehouse College in Atlanta, was pulled over for ‘a busted taillight’ and then was arrested for being under the influence of marijuana.

What REALLY happened was that Kairo was away at college in West Georgia when the event occurred, and he was cited in Carroll County for DUI and reckless driving.

It can happen to anyone right? Well not according to Sheree who stated years ago that Nene’s son being arrested for shoplifting was a direct reflection of her as a mother.

Shade Grenade or ‘Bomb’ CD?

While ‘Frick & Frack’ were partying the nights away during the Democratic National Convention, it seems that there was ‘Drama’ brewing back at home.

While it’s interesting to see all the commotion caused by some random uni-bomber, when it was determined that it was a former client/friend of Parks’ who caused all the ruckus, Phaedra dismissed the incident as being ‘racially motivated’.

She even stated that the bomber wasn’t intending to detonate anything but a ‘bomb ass’ mixtape.

Whatever the case, it all makes for great tv.
