Another day, another white supremacist is unveiled on social media.
This time it’s Tila Tequila who was caught out there after?a photo she posted of herself throwing the??Sieg Heil? Nazi salute alongside a few friends went viral.
Tila’s account has since been suspended but the drama behind the photos continues as details surface about the party, which was held for a known white nationalist group.
Details below…
Tila Tequila joined The National Policy Institute (NPI), a White nationalist and alt-right organization, for a celebration in DC and posted the photo above with the caption ‘Seig heil’?(German for ?Hail Victory?). ?The term is?popular amongst white supremacist who follow the ideology of Adolph Hitler.
?Sieg Heil? or ?Heil Hitler? and the one handed salute that accompanied the phrase are symbolic of the evil of Nazi Germany. Now the phrase is picking up steam as White supremacists who praise Donald Trump salute his victory with same term.
The NPI, who have reportedly seen an increase in membership and activity during the Trump campaign, ?reserved Maggiano?s Little Italy in Friendship Heights this past Friday for a celebration that apparently didn’t sit too well with the restaurant.
Maggiano’s posted on?Facebook?Monday that the dinner had been a “last minute booking” and that NPI had used a different name on the reservation.
The restaurant also railed against Tequila’s tweet,?with the following statement:
“This expression of support of Hitler is extremely offensive to us, as our restaurant is home to Teammates and Guests of every race, religion, and cultural background.”
They also plan on?donating all profits from Friday’s sales?$10,000?to DC’s Anti-Defamation League.
The?Tab?caught up to Tequila since?all the hoopla, and?she claims she and her photo mates were “just trolling everyone,” adding, “I think it’s so funny to get a rise out of people who are so easily triggered by things like that.”
For the record, Tila has been ‘trolling’ since the election as she has posted other?Nazi themed photos in the past…
One would question why Tequila feels?it’s important to ‘troll’ but a bigger question would be why a Vietnamese-American woman named after a Mexican liquor would align herself with white supremicists?
Moving on…
Are we even shocked?about this incident? I honestly feel it’s just a drop in the bucket at this point.
