Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia has issued an official statement regard recent reports about his health.

Just yesterday, I posted about Long’s ‘grave’ illness, which is rumored to be stage 4 gastro-intestinal cancer (click HERE if you missed that).

Well now, the mega-church pastor has responded to all of the reports, confirming that he is recovering from a “health challenge,” while staying vague about exactly what that challenge may be.

Long previously attempted to keep his undisclosed illness under wraps by doing a video in a gym speaking about eating raw vegetables (click HERE if you missed that), now he’s addressing the public’s concerns about his drastic appearance change.

In a statement dated September 6, 2016, Long responds to media reports that he is currently hospitalized with stage 4 cancer.  While he doesn’t address reports of a specific illness, Long states that it’s NOT related to his new ‘diet’.

I am recovering from a health challenge that I trust God to deliver me from. It is unrelated to the eating for life diet consisting of mostly raw vegetables that I am continuing, as part of a holistic approach to good health.

At this time my family and I are asking that your respect our privacy.

I truly appreciate your prayers and support for me, my loved ones and my beloved New Birth Family.
