Atlanta-based rapper Gucci Mane may be back on the scene sooner than you think.

The popular rapper, who jailed back in 2013, recently got a bit of good news after alleging? the courts miscalculated the ‘clock’ on his sentence.

According to TMZ Gucci Mane will be released in about a year:

Gucci Mane?had to play math teacher to prison officials … and it means he’s gonna get out of jail earlier.

It’s been a long road for Mane since he was arrested in 2013 for violating probation by carrying a gun. He served time in a Georgia jail, then got transferred to a federal pen. He’d been sentenced to 39 months for the violation.

Mane filed docs stating the clock should have started running when he went to federal prison, in December 2013 He felt the Bureau of Prisons was miscalculating his time served … and a judge agreed a clarification was needed.

Thanks to the change, his 39 months will be up in March 2017.

But wait… TMZ may have gotten the date wrong because several other online reports say Gucci Mane’s release date is actually sooner than that…

XXL reports that Gucci Mane will be home THIS YEAR:

A search of the Federal Bureau of Prisons?s records earlier tonight (Feb. 14) by journalist Neil Martinez-Belkin showed that Gucci Mane, born?Radric Davis, has indeed received a new release date.

We searched the database?ourselves and confirmed that?Guwop is set to get out on?Sept. 20 of this year.
