Usher has joined forces with Nas and Bibi Bourelly for a newly released song called ?Chains.”
The artists address racial injustice and police brutality in the song’s visuals, which feature portraits of Black lives lost to police brutality, as well as their names, ages, and stories.
The video was released on Tidal earlier today and in the opening text, states: “While racial injustice keeps killing, society keeps looking away.”?
From Travyon Martin to Sean Bell, the images presented serve as evidence of what Nas sums up in one succinct bar: “We’ve got a problem that needs to be solved.”?

“Facing the facts is the first step toward change,” the concluding text says. And on that note, Usher, Nas?and Bourelly leave us all with the feeling that looking away is not an option.

Usher will perform “Chains” at Tidal X: 10/20, a concert that will be staged at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on October 20. The show will also feature performances from Beyonc?, Jay Z, Prince, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Alessia Cara, Damian Marley, Fabolous, Flatbush Zombies, Pusha T, and more.
Proceeds from “Chains” will be donated to a Donor Advised Fund managed by Sankofa.org, a social justice organization.
