Yuuup! It’s official. Vivica A. Fox is joining the cast of FoxTV’s hit show, Empire!

Lee Daniels, the co-creator/director of the Fox hit series EMPIRE is clearly on his grind and has enlisted the services of just about every popular entertainer he knows.

Fox has been added to the growing list of celebs to appear during the 2nd season of the popular television series, who include: Kelly Rowland, Tyrese, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys and even Oprah Winfrey.

Vivica comes aboard as the older sister of Cookie Lyons (Taraji P. Henson), who comes to Empire in search of her younger sis for reasons unknown.

Vivica posted the photo above via Instagram as she shared news of her new role on Empire a few hours ago, stating:

For the record, Fox?s character, who debuts in episode 8, won’t exactly be aiming for Sibling of the Year!

We?ve met Cookie?s sister Carol (played by Tasha Smith) and executive producer Ilene Chaiken explained to EW, how Cookie’s siblings will be quite ‘colorful’…

?Cookie?s other family members are troublesome to say the least.?

Co-creator Lee Daniels previously revealed that he?s potentially interested in a spin-off showcasing Cookie?s family when she was younger, so it?s possible this could be a test for the audience?s interest in Cookie?s relatives.

Empire returns to Fox on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m ET.
