Word on the curb is that Kim Fields is will be joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for season 8.

There’s going to be a few new faces on The Real Housewives of Atlanta next season and it appears that the ‘Facts of Life’ actress will be one of them.

As you know, Claudia Jordan was the first ‘housewife’ rumored to get the boot (click HERE if you missed that) and Nene Leakes announced her departure from the popular reality show just days ago (click HERE if you missed that), and a few ‘newbies’ were already in the works.

Fields grew up on television appearing as Tootie in “Facts of Life” and later as Regine in “Living Single.”? She’s been residing in Atlanta for years and is more likely to be found behind the camera these days, directing shows like Tyler Perry’s “Meet the Browns” and BET’s “Let’s Stay Together” as well as her “Holiday Love” series.

Now, Fields (who is married with two young children), can add ‘Atlanta Housewife’ to her extensive resume.

While there has been chatter for weeks now about Kim Fields joining the cast, several of my well connected RHOA sources have confirmed that ‘Tootie’ will be joining the cast.

Last season, fans were up in arms about there being too many ‘unmarried’ housewives on the cast and with the addition of Fields, that won’t be an issue.

The 46-year-old actress is married to Broadway actor Christopher Morgan and the couple has two sons: Sebastian (7) and Quincy (19 months).

Fields called her 2nd son a welcome ‘surprise’ and she and her husband spoke of their blessing to People magazine last year, stating:

“He thought I might be dehydrated, then I find out I’m two months pregnant!” Fields tells the magazine. “I was stunned out of my mind.”

But happily so. “We were both overjoyed,” says Morgan.

Field’s reportedly named her son Quincy after music legend Quincy Jones.

So far… that’s all the intel I’ve gotten on Tootie, but I expect there will be lots of revelations over the next few weeks since the ladies have already begun filming for the 8th season.

Whatever the case, we can expect a few new faces and Kim Fields appears to be one of them
