As Bobbi Kristina Brown lays unconscious in an Atlanta area hospital, the Brown/Houston families are preparing to battle over her estate.

The latest word on the curb is that Bobbi Kristina’s father, singer Bobby Brown, has filed for guardianship over his disabled daughter’s estate. *sigh*

Coincidentally, news of Bobby’s request for control over his daughter’s assets comes just days after he hit the stage claiming that she was ‘awake’ and ‘no longer on life support’ (click HERE if you missed that).? While Cissy Houston, Krissy’s maternal grandmother, had maintained for weeks now that there was ‘little hope’ of Bobbi Kristina recovering and that she had been declared ‘brain dead’.

Now… with Bobby Brown filing for control, it seems he’s prepping for the inevitable.

For the record, Brown clarified his statement about Bobbi Kristina being ‘awake’ through his attorney’s, stating:

“Due to the numerous requests for an elaboration of the comments made by Bobby Brown on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his concert in Texas, there is a need to clarify the reports on the condition of Bobbi Kristina,” his lawyer Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC.

“Bobbi Kristina’s condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement,” the lawyer toldUs Weekly.

“Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”

Earlier this week, Cissy Houston confirmed yet again that her granddaughter has irreversible brain damage, releasing the following stating:

I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma, she has a tracheotomy and according to doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive. Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers.

What all of that means is that Bobbi Kristina is alive, but in a vegetative state.? She will most likely no longer be able to think or act on her own behalf and it seems that her father is now opting to control the estate that will have to manage his daughter’s care.

Bobby Brown has filed for guardianship over Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate.

Bobbi Kristina, the 22-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, was placed in a medically-induced coma after being found unresponsive in a Roswell home on Jan. 31. Last month, she was moved from Emory University Hospital to DeKalb Medical Center.

David W. Long, the attorney for Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother Cissy Houston released a statement regarding Bobby’s guardianship filing, saying:

This is a family matter involving sensitive information. We hope to resolve this in a manner that is respectful of Bobbi Kristina’s sensitive health information. The Houston family has always looked out for the best interest of Bobbi Kristina Brown. The family has done so all of her life and will continue to do so. We trust that others have the same objective.
