Raymond ‘Benzino’ Scott, former cast member of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta is a good dude but it seems like he’s been having what many would consider the WORST YEAR EVER so I put on my ‘Oprah’ hat for a quickie interview to talk about all that’s been going on with him.

As you know, Benzino got the boot from LHHATL, then within the first 2 months of 2015 got arrested not once… but twice!

Zino was busted with a loaded gun at the Atlanta airport on January 27, 2015 (click HERE if you missed that), then a few weeks later, was arrested on various charges after being stopped for driving without a seat belt.

Benzino spoke with me about his Atlanta arrests, his latest projects and also addressed rumors that he was suing LHHATL for the fight that broke out on the set during the reunion.

Benzino on his airport arrest:

I had just bought a baby nine… a little baby nine, for security and it was in my computer bag.

It was an honest mistake. I didn’t know it was in there.

Benzino on his latest arrest:

The officer pulled me over for not wearing a seatbelt and I found out my license had just been suspended the day before.

For the record, Marijuana was not found in my car. TMZ says a stash of drugs were found in my car and that’s not true!

The police report says it, the marijuana was found in the POLICE car, not mine.

Benzino on LHHATL:

The first two seasons you see me on there being a good friend to everyone… giving advice.

Season 3, I found the woman I loved and things were going good and then things started going haywire. ?And of course the reunion was bananas, I never expected that

I didn’t bring Althea on Love & Hip-Hop to be fighting anybody. ?When you reach a certain age, all of that fighting and carrying on… I mean really, when does the transition to adulthood takes place?

I’m not going to mention her name, but I think the one woman on there caused chaos, she was allowed to cause chaos… ?it was unfortunate but the powers that be decided that they wanted to move on with the show.

Is it true that you & Althea filed a lawsuit (against Joseline)…

There is a lawsuit against that person. Of course… because she attacked Althea and it was unwarranted. Jumped off the chair and attacked.

I don’t care what anyone says… we’re allowed to say what we want to say. Words don’t cause injuries.

I’m from the hood, I’m from streets and I could have took it another way, but I chose not to because the world’s looking at me and that’s not what I’m trying to portray these days.

I decided to hit her where it hurts, her pockets. ?So the lawsuit is still going on…

What’s next for Benzino & Althea?

Love & Hip Hop has been a great vehicle for me… and even Thi-Thi coming on, being able to showcase her music and showcase us as a couple, we’ve gotten a lot of support.

Centric’s about to do a documentary on us… on ‘Being’… we’re the first couple to be featured. So that’s coming up and we’re excited about that.

We’re also working on HipHopWeeklyTV with Claudia Jordan and MempHitz… so we’ve got things in the pot.
