Paula Jai Parker finally finds a home!
After several months of living out of an extended stay hotel, Paula Jai Parker is no longer homeless!
Paula has found a small home to rent and she takes her mom over to check out her new digs. Moms is clearly not impressed with her daughter’s living situation and doesn’t hesitate to tell her how she feels.
It seems Paula’s mom feels the same as everyone else about her husband Forrest.
The pair finally move into their new place, and Paula is happy she finally has a home for her young son. Later, she recalls the conversation she had with Elise Neal about how her relationship with her husband, Forest, who was then a production assistant on the set of Hustle & Flow, got her blackballed in the industry. She asks Forrest if they flaunted their love around the set, and Forrest said he doesn?t believe they did.
Elise Neal and her dance troupe ambitions…
Elise Neal’s dance troup, ‘Elise Neal & Assorted Flavors’ aka ‘The Pussycat Dolls 2.O, is seeking a new dancer for the crew. Golden Brooks apparently has a dance history and Elise calls her to audition for the spot.
Golden’s moves impresses Elise, and she tells Golden that she?ll consider her for the spot. That leads to a conversation about Paula being upset with Elise about missing their initial group meeting.
Elise says she was so busy preparing for her upcoming show, that she forgot about the meeting. Blah Blah Blah…
Moving on.
Golden also reveals that she told Lisa being a reality TV doesn?t make her a ‘legitimate’ actress. Elise and Golden laugh about it, even though Elise feels Golden probably shouldn?t have verbalized her feelings.
Lisa gets the great news that the new film she?s co-producing could possibly be finished in time to be reviewed at Sundance Film Festival.
She gets even more elated when she learns her producers and directors thought long and hard about the role she requested in the film and ultimately decided to give her the part.
Score 1 for Lisa Wu!
Golden Brooks breaks down…
Golden asks friend and fellow actress Melissa De Sousa to help her run lines for a pilot episode she?s hoping to book. During their session, Golden tells Melissa she?s growing frustrated with trying to find work, especially since reality TV stars are snatching up all the good jobs!
Later, Golden gets a call from her agent.? Apparently the execs for the pilot she auditioned for have decided to go another route and cast a different ethnic background. Golden gets frustrated over the call and becomes even more distressed when she learns that she has to selftape an audition for another part.
The classically trained actress throws a fit and storms out of the scene, with her companion running after her. (And scene!)
Bravo… Golden… That should certainly add a few points to your dramatic acting resume.
Elise and Paula bump heads…
Paula invites Elise over to her new abode and they discuss Elise?s absence from the first group meeting.
Things get heated when Paula reveals that Elise’s dance troupe, ‘Elise & Assorted Flavors’ was actually Paula’s original idea, but Elise kicked her out of the group.
[Sidebar: Hold up… wait! Didn’t Elise say that the Pussycat Dolls stole their concept from HER? Now we’re hearing that she actually stole the idea from Paula?? Hilarious!]
Elise denies Paula’s claims of creating Elise & Assorted Flavors (which was originally called Godiva) and she says she kicked Paula out for missing an entire film festival that would?ve helped both their careers.
Whatever the case, the past is the past and while Elise makes a commitment to Paula’s new project, she’s not so sure that Paula can let go of the past and feels that all that resentment Paula is carrying could cause issues later on.
Stay tuned…
