So a Black man brings his White girlfriend into a barbershop in Harlem… what happens next?
A video showing how patrons of the establishment reacted to the scenario might just surprise you.
In the video, which appears on ABC’s several men and women react to racist hairdresser?s attempts to intimidate and humiliate a young girl because of the color of her skin.

In an episode of ?What Would You Do,? three actors play out a racist scene in Denny Moe?s, a Harlem barbershop which caters to a predominantly Black clientele.
An actress portrays a Black hairstylist who bashes a male patron’s girlfriend because she is White. The show gauged real customers? reactions as the stylist repeatedly criticizes the girl and chastises the boyfriend for dating outside of his race.

While some customers sat quietly, allowing the racism to continue, while others took a stand against the hatred.? What would you do?
Watch the video below…
Wow! Isn’t it crazy how some people just sat by and allowed the hairstylist to berate the other young lady for the color of her skin?
I give mad props to the people who stood up to the hairstylist. One gentleman even asked her how she would feel if she went ‘downtown’ (to a shop in a predominantly White area) and was told she didn’t belong there.
Interracial dating isn’t a new thing, in fact, these days it’s quite common. While I’m sure there are still many Black women who feel ‘some kinda way’ about seeing a successful Black man with a non-Black partner (key word… ‘successful’), I’m hopeful that many would have stood in defense of the girlfriend, who did nothing to provoke the anger of the jealous hairstylist.
