The name ‘Sharkeisha‘ was a worldwide trending topic last week thanks to a viral video of a teen girl getting sucker punched (click HERE if you missed that) but now we’ve got the name ‘Shamichael’ bounce around.
There were unsubstantiaed rumors that the victim had committed suicide after the vicious assault, however she is actually alive and well and has since been identified as 17-year-old Shamichael Manuel.
The young beatdown victim has come out of ‘hiding’ with her mother by her side to claim her own 15 minutes of fame.
Shamichael claims Sharkeisha’s ‘beatdown’ (say that fast 3 times) occurred on November 19, 2013 and that she was left bruised and embarrassed by it all.
The attack was recorded at an apartment complex in Houston, Texas and Shamichael, a high school senior, says she was set up by her former friend and a group of other mean girls.
Shamichael recently spoke with a Houston news outlet and shared photos of her injuries.

VIDEO: Sharkiesha beatdown victim speaks
Shamichael discussed the fight with Houston news outlet KHOU. She says that she thought she was headed to a friend?s place to pick up some of her belongings when Sharkeisha, 16, viciously punched and kicked her…. all over a dude!
“I was just in shock. I was like oh my God. Did she really do this? You?re supposed to be my close friend,? Manuel said.
?We were talking in school earlier that day. She made it seem like there was nothing wrong with her,? she added.
A neighbor ended up coming to Manuel?s rescue and driving her home.
The vicious beat-down left Shamichael with a black eye and a busted lip and she hasn?t returned to school because she?s had trouble seeing out of her right eye.
?It is hurting and crushing to me,? Manuel said. ?I felt humiliated and embarrassed and hurt at the same time.?
As you know, the popularity of the video has made the humiliation that much worse for Shamichael, for the graphic footage has turned into an internet sensation.
Sharkeisha’s name has even become a popular hash-tag and internet meme.
?The video?s just going and going. They?re making jokes, and they?re taunting. They?re glorifying the girl Sharkeysha, but they?re taunting my daughter at the same time,? said mother Olevia Henderson.
Olevida Henderson has been trying to report the video online, but she feels there?s nothing she can do to stop it.
?I was in the grocery store, and the girl was checking out my groceries. The baggers were just laughing and talking about it. I said that?s my daughter in that video, and their whole expression changed,? added Henderson.
Contrary to popular belief, Sharkeisha or Sharkeysha (the correct spelling is still unknown) has NOT been arrested for this incident.
Manuel?s mother wants Sharkeisha to be held accountable for the ‘beatdown’ and has filed a police report with the Harris County Sheriff?s Office. Henderson said she also reported the beating to an assistant principal at Cypress Creek High School but she claims she was told nothing could be done because the attack didn?t happen on school grounds.
