Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons’ highly anticipated episode of Iyanla: Fix My life aired last weekend and it appears he’s had a rough road.
Despite his success as a rapper and actor in the late ’90s, DMX grew up in a rough neighborhood, suffered through an abusive childhood and went on to have a several brushes with the law, racking up arrests for drug possession, reckless driving, animal cruelty and more.

Simmons was married to Tashera Simmons for 11 years, but he had several extramarital affairs, which led to the birth his 10 kids.
With that kind of background, you might think he’d be the perfect candidate for Iyanla Vanzant’s show, but DMX says that Vanzant didn’t fix a dayum thing… in fact, he says she made it worse.

Domenick Nati, a rep for DMX, issued the following statement to AllHipHop.com:
DMX agreed to be a guest on Iyanla: Fix My Life with the understanding that she would be helping his relationship with his 10 children.
When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting.
Iyanla did not ‘fix’ DMX’s life, just made his image worse, and doesn’t not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage.
