Allen Iverson and his wifeTawanna have been battling each other in Atlanta divorce court for some time now.
The two finally came to an agreement on the terms of their lengthy on again/off again divorce, but only after Iverson asked Judge Bensonetta Tipton-Lane to step down, citing he was getting the same treatment as Tameka Foster Raymond.
To clarify, Iverson’s wife was represented by John Mayhue, the same attorney who represented Usher and the same attorney who Tameka’s attorney claimed had formerly held fundraisers for the judge (click HERE if you missed that).
Judge Tipton-Lane refused to step down in Iverson’s case, however both parties through their attorneys eventually reached a settlement decision i.e. how Mr. Iverson?s 18 million dollars would be divided up as part of their marital assets.
Fast forward a month later… and the Judge has lit into Iverson about what a horrible, irresponsible parent he is to his 5 children.
Details below…
According to TMZ, the ATL judge signed off on Iverson’s divorce from his wife Tawanna, the mother of his five children, but in the final divorce decree, the judge totally roased A.I., stating:
“[Iverson] does not know how to manage the children; has little interest in learning to manage the children and has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development.
For example, he has refused to attend to an obvious and serious alcohol problem, which has caused him to do inappropriate things in the presence of the children while impaired.
He has left the children alone without supervision. He has left his young daughters in a hotel room with men who are unknown to the mother.”
The judge awarded Tawanna legal and physical custody of the kids. Allen has visitation rights but ONLY if he abides by certain conditions.
Among them … Allen must NOT drink a drop of alcohol for the next 18 months.
And there’s more … until all of his kids become adults [18+], he can’t consume alcohol within 24 hours of the times he has the kids.
He’s also been ordered to see a shrink and attend AA meetings for a year.
Iverson has made no statements regarding his divorce and custody agreements.
