OMG! This may be old to some of you but I totally missed Lauryn Hill‘s mugshot the other day!

Hill posed for the mugshot above on June 29 after pleading guilty to the three-count misdemeanor filed in U.S. District Court in Newark, New Jersey for?tax evasion.

The iconic songstress faces three years behind bars after admitting she failed to file tax returns between 2005 and 2007, during which time she earned $1.8 million.

It probably didn’t take too long for Hill to be found guilty of the charges… especially since she admitted it in an online letter where she said she didn’t owe taxes because she’s not a part of society.

I left a more mainstream and public life, in order to wean both myself, and my family, away from a lifestyle that required distortion and compromise as a means for maintaining it. During this critical healing time, there were very few people accessible to me who had not already been seduced or affected by this machine, and therefore who could be trusted to not try and influence or coerce me back into a dynamic of compromise…

A reality check from Uncle Sam forced Hill to returned to mainstream society and her attorney,?Nathan Hochman, says she plans to finally pay ?her taxes: $818,000 from 2005, $222,000 from 2006 and $761,000 from 2007.

The 37-year-old grammy winner is currently free on a $150,000 unsecured bond, is scheduled to be sentenced on November 27.
