It’s only been about a week since Tawanna Iverson, the wife of former NBA baller Allen Iverson, filed court documents requesting a list of her husbands sexual partners (click HERE if you missed that).

Well apparently that chess move created a stalemate and now A.I. wants to pump the breaks on the divorce proceedings!

Many of you speculated that Tawanna may have been seeking that list of sexual partners after possibly contracting an STD from her estranged hubby.

While it’s a huge possibility that could have been the case, Iverson is calling FOUL and insisting that due to the fact he and Tawanna have, in fact, resumed sexual relations, the divorce should be dismissed.

According to TMZ, Iverson wants to pull the plug on the divorce and he filed a motion last week asking the court to dismiss Tawanna’s initial divorce proceedings, claiming he and his wife had ‘temporarily reconciled’ from November 2011 to February 2012.

In the filed documents, Iverson claims he and Tawanna “resumed their marital relationship, cohabiting, having sexual relations and holding themselves out as husband and wife.”

According to Iverson, that’s enough for a judge to throw out Tawanna’s divorce petition — on grounds the marriage isn’t “irretrievably broken” … as she had claimed.

It’s unclear if Iverson actually wants to get back together with Tawanna — the former NBA player’s legal move might simply be an attempt to delay paying support.

A judge has yet to rule.

Tawanna first filed for divorce back in March 2010, citing the marriage was ?irretrievably broken? but dismissed it and decided to give their 9 year union another try.

Apparently that didn’t work out and Tawanna filed a second time June 13, 2011 in Fulton County Superior Court… and now here we are again.

I’m assuming Tawanna may have requested AI’s list of sex partners after bumping skins with Iverson and discovering he wasn’t serious about reconciling and perhaps still had a few chicks on the side.

Now it appears Iverson has flipped the script and wants her divorce case dismissed so that he can either delay the settlement or file on his own as the plaintiff.? Interesting legal strategy…
