Akon is involved in a legal battle surrounding his huge Atlanta area mansion.

The megastar, who’s real name is Aliaune B. Thiam, is being sued by a company claiming to have over $300,000 of work on the home, but Akon refuses to pay the final invoice… a measly $51,941!

According to lawsuit filed in Georgia Superior Court, Akon is reportedly “up to his neck” in over $51,000 of construction bills owed to an Atlanta contracting company.

Southern Electric Company, Inc. filed a lawsuit against Akon on January 30, 2012, claiming it completed over $344,000 of work on Akon?s mansion.

Their invoices included electrical work, framing, and molding and Akon apparently still owes $51,941, which was billed on their final invoice.

In the suit, the company claims they spoke with Akon?s mom last November, who was acting on his behalf, but they still never received the final payment.

Southern Electric is now suing Akon for breach of contract for the amount allegedly owed, plus interest.

Now you know and I know that Akon is ‘up to his neck’ in that Lady GaGa money, so unless he and or his 8 wives wife Tomeka Robinson-Thiam, who is also named in the lawsuit, managed to somehow spend all that dough, I’m thinking this lawsuit may have more to do with him disputing the work that was done more so than the cash.? But what do I know… *shrug*

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in court…
