It’s official?Deion Sanders has filed for divorce from his wife Pilar Biggers-Sanders.
After?denying divorce claims for months, Deion has finally publicly admitted that he and his wife are calling it quits after nearly 13 years of marriage.
The couple married in 1999 and have three children together.
Pilar, the wife of Pro Football Hall of Famer, said Tuesday that she didn’t find out about her husband’s decision to end their marriage until she read it online and she was shocked and heartbroken that Deion wasn’t even man enough to say it to her face.
Details below…
According to TMZ, Pilar’s attorney, Larry Friedman, says she was “heartbroken and surprised when [she] read … that Deion announced his decision, on his own.”
“Pilar’s sole focus and top priority for the last twelve and a half years has been her marriage and children,” he added.
“Based on recent discoveries, [Pilar] now realizes that Deion did not view their family the same way.”
Friedman would not elaborate on what the “discoveries” were.
The lawyer also said that Pilar has NOT negotiated a divorce settlement with the 44-year-old, but she fully intends to protect herself and their three children.
Last October, Deion issued a statement saying he’d filed for divorce, but then said he didn’t. On the flip side, Pilar confirmed that he did, and then Deion tweeted that he hadn’t. *sigh* (I know.. it’s confusing to me too.]

Just a few months after that catastrophe, Sanders made an “official” announcement Dec. 17th, stating:
“Pilar and I have decided to end our marriage and move on to the next phase of our individual lives with mutual respect.
“We are friends and our top priority has and will continue to be the well-being of our children.
“We arrived at this decision prayerfully and carefully in order to be able to pursue what is in both of our best personal interests.”
Pilar admits she’s still not 100% convinced the marriage is over and said she was “confident that he will come to his senses and return to his family as he has in the past.”

This is Deion’s second marriage. He was previously married to Carolyn Chambers, and they have two children together.
What do you think of Deion’s decision to tell the media of his divorce before he told his wife?
And on a random note… who remembers when Deion played for both the Atlanta Falcons AND the Braves?
