Last August rumors swirled that Stacey Dash had gotten the ax from VH1’s popular sitcom “Single Ladies” after her diva attitude rubbed show executives the wrong way.

We knew there was a bit of truth to those rumors when co-star LisaRaye interrupted her Italian vacation to issue a response to all that talk that she was the cause of Dash’s termination.
It didn’t take long for Stacey Dash to release her own statement confirming that she was leaving the show, but stating it was her decision to leave due to her familial obligations.
After all that hoopla, a replacement has finally been chosen.
Guess who get’s to fill Dash’s designer stilettos alongside Lisa Raye next season on VH1’s “Single Ladies”…
According to Rodney Ho (AJC),
VH1?s Atlanta-based hit dramedy ?Single Ladies? has hired ?All My Children? alumnus Denise Vasi as a replacement for Stacey Dash, who abruptly left the show in August after just one season.
Yeah… I never heard of her either. *shrug*
Vasi has a similar look to Dash (light eyes and all) and she recently held a role as Randi Hubbard on ABC’s ?All My Children? until the show ended this fall.?
Her movie credits include “The Good Guy,” and “The Order of the Serpentine” and other TV credits include HBO?s ?How To Make It In America? and USA?s ?White Collar.? She is also a model.
The show returns to Atlanta to start shooting season two January 2012 and the new season will air in the early summer.
While Vasi looks similar to Dash, she won’t be taking on the VAL character, in fact, Vasi is cast as Raquel, a close friend of Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy).? According to the press release, this new character “Raquel” is “a savvy business woman from a prominent Southern family on a quest to discover passion”.
What happens to Dash’s character Val remains to be seen.
Nothing was addressed last season as far as her leaving. And if you recall, the season finale presented a cliff hanger in which Val was caught in a love-triangle between two men.
Will they beat her up and kill her? Will she suddenly move away with one or the other?
I guess we’ll have to just wait and see…
