In Mugshot Mania ~ R&B Singer Mario Beats His Mother… Allegedly
R&B star Mario has been arrested for allegedly attacking his mother and leaving her in fear for her life.
The singer, real name Mario Dewar Barrett, is accused by his mum Shawntia Hardaway of twice attacking her at her home in Baltimore, Maryland.
She told police that the first time her 24-year-old son “pushed her eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall”, according to police documents. She was then found crying after police arrived to a “mental case breaking up property” at her apartment, and she told officers he had again pushed her.
“When this officer asked the victim if she fears for her life in reference to her son’s actions, the victim replied ‘yes’,” the officer wrote.
Mario, who was once in Dancing With The Stars, is charged with one count of second-degree assault and was released after posting $50,000 bond.
