BJ Berstein, the attorney representing litigants in the Bishop Eddie Long Sex Scandal recently spoke to CNN about Jamal Parris’ statements. I noted during my twitter rant last night that Jamal was found by I-Team investigators somewhere in Colorado (basically in hiding). The young man had no script… no attorney by his side… no ipad… no sermon… no nothing. All he had was the pain of the memories from his experience with Long.

BJ Bernstein agrees with me and during her recent CNN interview, stated that Jamal’s pain was evident as he had been caught completely off guard.

Jamal was at a grocery store in the middle of the night.? He wasn’t expecting a reporter to be there. You could see by his face he’s kind of shocked and … first he said ‘no’ and then the reporter kept asking him questions.

This is very raw for him. And there was just this one question that opened the floodgates for him. It opened a floodgate of what has happened to him… his feelings. This is very real…

Bernstein also noted that this isn’t easy for the young litigants, which is why she’s turned down all interview requests, including Oprah!

Women experience it, young girls do, young boys do, young men do. And the lawsuit alleges this is something that started with young men and 14, 15, 16… building a relationship. And the the lawsuit alleges that there’s exploitation.

That’s why I’ve fiercely predicted against everyone’s wishes, against everyone in this world EVEN OPRAH… to say ‘no’ we’re not sitting down with these boys for an interview at this point.

This situation is getting deeper and deeper by the day and in my opinion, the fact that Jamal was basically ambushed coming out of a store at night in COLORADO speaks volumes about the young man’s credibility. There was nothing but raw emotion coming from his statements.
