Former Cosby Kid Tempestt Bledsoe, 36, has been involved in a log-term relationship with 46 year old Darryl Bell (aka Ron Johnson from “A Different World”). The two are now involved in a new reality series from Fox Reality entitled “Househusbands of Hollywood.” Don’t let the title fool you though, Tempestt and Darryl are not married at all, although they have been involved for over 16 years. The couple has no kids and apparently have no plans to marry.? Yet another “reality” show that’s lacking “reality!” *sigh*
After rumors were spreading that the two had possibly tied the knot, Darryl hit up Atlanta radio station V-103 a few days ago to verify that he and Tempestt are definitely NOT married. Darryl says he’s still not ready to make that commitment and “if it ain’t broke…” He also made a shocking comment that he wanted to be a “Steadman”?to her Oprah. Oh…Ummmmkay. That being said…Tempestt is the breadwinner in the household and makes all of the pertinent decisions while Darryl takes care of the home.
Their arrangement is probably a smart move for Tempestt who still has control of her finances. Darryl, however lost over $14 million dollars Continue Reading…
The Goodie MoB is holding a reunion show September 19th and y’all already know I feel about all things ATL. I’m absolutely ecstatic! The first of 4 TV spots announcing the show has been released which features Big Gipp discussing what the reunion means to him. I’m assuming each of the other members will have their own segment as well.? I’ve never been so happy to see a commercial in all my days!
Check out Goodie Mob’s Reunion commercial (Part 1) ft. Big Gipp as well as a few promo pics below:
The FULL VIDEO has finally leaked for my new favorite theme song, Jay-Z‘s “Run This Town” featuring Rihanna and Kanye West. It may disappear soon but you can peep the leaked version of the video below while it lasts:
Lil Duval joins forces with former Wendy Williams sidekick Charlamagne The God to present “The Light Skin Awards.”? Nominees include Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, Mariah Carey, Drake, BET’s Rocsi and even my girl Monica (who Charlamagne says wouldn’t be pretty as a dark-skinned girl!) Yes…he’s trippin. *sigh* I’m totally blaming Tameka Foster Glover Raymond’s “Dark Skinned Girl” essay for this video. I dunno whether to laugh or cry…
Comedian Mo’Nique was spotted in Vegas during the 7th Annual Hoodie awards looking simply mah-vel-ous!? The new host of a BET late night recently hit the cover of JET magazine where she discussed her decision to shed the pounds. In the interview, Mo’Nique says she knew it was time to lose weight after an AHA moment during a conversation with her husband, Sidney Hicks:
“I was very comfortable at 262 pounds,” she says. “I’m in the bathroom mirror one day admiring 262. And Sid says to me when he comes out of the shower, ‘Mama, how much do you weigh?’ I said, ‘262.’ And he said, ‘Mmm.'”
Mo’Nique says she knew something was coming next. “He said to me in the most gentle, loving way, ‘I want you for a lifetime,'” she says. “Baby, I started working out right then.”
Rumors have circulated that Mo’Nique took the easy way out and had gastric bypass surgery, but she flatly denies those accusations. The author of “Skinny Bitches Are Evil” and “Skinny Cooks Can’t Be Trusted” made a decision for her health that she makes no excuses for it. I applaud her. She looks great!
In addition to her recent weight loss and venture into late night television, Mo’Nique has also starred in an intriguing new film where she plays the abusive mother of an obese teen who was impregnated twice by her father. The film, entitled “Precious” premiered in January 2009 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize for best drama, as well as a Special Jury Prize for supporting actress Mo’Nique. The film has received the golden touch of both Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry so you already know it’s a heartwrencher. Check out the trailer:
Movie Trailer ~ “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire”
I saw the trailer a while back and was struck by it’s intensity. I honestly can’t wait to see this film. “Precious” is expected to be released nationwide November 6, 2009.
