Grammy Award-winning musician, Wyclef Jean was in Atlanta recently promoting the release of his mixtape EP, Wyclef Jean AKA Toussaint St Jean From The Hut To The Projects To The Mansion, a collaboration with DJ Drama.
Toussaint St. Jean, the title character of the new CD, is a persona suggested to Wyclef by his friend and collaborator rapper T.I. and is loosely based on an 18th-century Haitian revolutionary hero.
Wyclef and Drama hit up Criminal Records in Little Five Points where they performed during a free concert and gave away $50 gift cards through a venture with Western Union. The pair also appeared on Good Day Atlanta, where Wyclef spoke about his humanitarian efforts and performed a song off the EP.
During the performance Jean threw in a few adlibs telling the media to “leave Tiger alone” and congratulating Mayoral candidate Kasim Reed.

In addition to promoting the CD, Wyclef spoke of his humanitarian efforts for his hometown of Haiti as well as his devotion to creating and maintaining a healthy environment worldwide through his partnership with the Timberland Boot Company. Wyclef and Timberland have teamed up for a shoe line where each pair sold, $2 will be donated to Wyclef?s Yele Haiti Foundation to support reforestation in Haiti.Wyclef is one of six Earthkeeper Heroes within the company’s 2009 Earthkeepers program.
