Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson hit the streets of Atlanta last weekend to promote his upcoming album as well as his new fragrance, Power by 50 Cent. In an appearance at Macy’s Perimeter Mall location, Fiddy explained, ?For me, power isn?t just something you learn on the street or in the boardroom ? it?s a way of life.?
While in town, Jackson also hit up V-103’s Greg Street to give the scoop about his new CD, “Before I self Destruct”.? In his interview, 50 explained the song he wrote about his ex, Shaniqua Tompkins, the mother of his son. He explained why he decided to go hard in the song:
In 2003 I was all over the place, and my son’s mom I kind of spun her out of control. I take responsibility for that. And my son, he loves her so much that I won’t say anything negative about her anymore. I said what I had to say on the record cause I had those feelings…. this record is more than an album to me, it’s personal.
In addressing the beef between he and rapper Rick Ross, Fifty explains how Rick has been avoiding his son’s mother, Tia after her association with Fifty. Even revealing how Rick’s son is suffering with no health insurance. He also puts Rick on blast for his other baby mom’s who’s a call girl (the one he had the the sex tape on):
I mean you can look at him and see he’s not a very attractive man and I can see him as a guy who would have to purchase a lil adult entertainment. But Damn… no condom Rick? That’s nasty… downright nasty!
Yeah…. he really went there. More photos + the full video of Fiddy’s interview with DJ Greg Street below:

In part one of the interview, 50 addresses how his album got leaked. He says that although it leaked, he’s happy that it’s being compared to “Get Rich or Die Tryin.” He also talks about working with Polow Da Don and how Polow’s in a great space creatively right now.

Part 2 of the interview is where 50 talks about his legal issues and where he drop kicks Rick Ross. Around 2:50 he talks about the song he wrote about his son’s mother then he goes into why the record is so personal to him. He breaks down the Rick Ross beef somewhere around the 4:00 minute mark.
I wanted to compete with him and I was angry with Rick Ross at one point cause I feel he;s a fraud, right? But I didn’t want to take control of his life entirely. I just wanted to dominate him in music and secure that space in the minds of the actual public that I’m a talent. But…when his son William, when his little boy is having health problems and he’s going deaf in his ear and his ole lady Tia (the baby mother) the baby doesn’t have health care. And when that happens and you feel you can’t talk to her because of 50 cent, I achieved more than what I set out for….
Shouts out to D. Jones Productions for producing this great footage!
50 also premiered his new movie in a private screening at College Park’s Movies ATL. The movie will be included with the purchase of his upcoming CD,?Before I Self-Destruct? which is scheduled for release November 16th. The gritty 90-minute film, also entitled “Before I Self Destruct”, is written, directed and stars the entrepreneurial rapper. I got the chance to view it and it wasn’t all that bad. I wouldn’t say it’s oscar worthy but for a free DVD, its worth watching on a rainy day. ?Don’t worry. I won’t spoil it for you, but in addition to the standard gangsta storyline, there’s something to look forward to if you like Fiddy’s physique.
