Meet Cara Williams. Ms. Williams has been jailed in Clayton County for allegedly falsifying a police report. Williams? called officials Wednesday morning at around 7:45 a.m. and reported that her ex-boyfriend, Sentwali Corry, came to her house on Pointe South Parkway and left with their 1-year-old daughter without permission. She also claimed her ex of slapped her and called her names before he stole her van and took the child.
An Amber Alert was issued for the child Wednesday morning but shortly after it was posted, a representative for an attorney in McDonough called police to inform them that Corry actually had legal custody of the child and was granted full custody in September while Williams was incarcerated. She had been served with the custody papers while in jail.
The attorney?s rep contacted Corry, who had been living in Maryland with the child since September and authorities in Clayton County worked with their counterparts in Maryland to confirm that Corry did indeed have full legal and physical custody of the child and that they were both OK.
Clayton County police then contacted Williams and had her come to the precinct where she denied having knowledge of the custody order and insisted the incident occurred that morning.? However she could not explain how Corry could have left Jonesboro, Georgia at 7:45 a.m. and been in Maryland by 12:30 p.m. the same day.
Williams was arrested and charged with false report of a crime and false statements. She is currently being held in the Clayton County Jail.
