Kristi Cornwell, a 38-year-old resident of Blairsville, GA has been missing since about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday night and apparently vanished under suspicious circumstances.

Cornwell, 38, was last seen at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday walking along Jones Creek Road, according to Mike Ayers, special agent with the GBI, which is assisting the Union County Sheriff?s Department with the investigation. Cornwell was talking to her boyfriend on her cell phone when she was grabbed.

At least 100 people are now searching for her.? Cornwell’s boyfriend, Douglas Davis, apparently attends a Macland Baptist Church in Cobb County. According to a daily e-mailed report from the church, Davis was talking to Cornwell on the phone when she was approached.

“She told him a car was stopping near her and then started screaming, ‘Don’t take me,'” according to the church bulletin. Officials say she has not been seen or heard from since.

Jones Creek Road, where Cornwell walked regularly, is a fairly rural area, the GBI agent said, but within walking distance of the missing woman?s church, New Union Baptist. The church is now being utilized as a command center in the search for Cornwell.

Cornwell is described as a dark-haired, white female standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, Ayers said.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan told 11 Alive News ?we believe Kristi Cornwell?s life is in danger.?

Davis and the Cornwell family have each declined to comment about the incident.

Cornwell is a student at Dalton State College, where she is studying medical laboratory technology, according to her profile on the Facebook social networking Web site. She is a 1989 graduate of Union County High School, according to her profile.
