Pam Bradley of Decatur First Bank speaks about finances and banking.
Hittmenn Djs got together Monday afternoon to give back to the community. Midway Recreation Center in Decatur was the location of the 2nd annual Bank Empowerment/School Supply Tour. With a goal of teaching youths the importance of economy, banking and finance, Robert “Kaspa” Smith along with fellow Hittmenn (or is it Hittmann?) DJ Greg Steet joined forces with Decatur First Bank and Metro Atlanta Foot Lockers to jump start kids on the path to financial empowerment by opening their first bank accounts.

I would like to open over 5,000 bank accounts. Also teach the importance of economy, banking and financing. With this opportunity given to the children, we will be able to rebuild the mind structure for our communities. While America goes through this recession. We want to support children to learn how to be more involved in their own everyday life and business.
Finances control our world and we should not protect our young ones from learning how to save their earnings during early child hood! ~ Robert “Kaspa” Smith
Kaspa gives kids a lesson in deposits and withdrawals.
In addition to the knowledge being distributed, kids were treated to appearances and performances by a few of their favorite artists. V .I.C. performed “Get Silly” and “Say Bow” while Young Dos, KC (Producer RIch Kidz), Playboy Nard, and S.Baby all came through to show support.

A $25 bank voucher was distributed to each child to get the accounts started and at least 82 bank accounts were opened during the session.
The program will continue throughout the school year to work towards their goal of opening 5000 new accounts. Only 4,918 more to go!
Huge props to HittmennDJ’s for doing some good in the hood!
