T.I. announced last week that his final farewell concert will be held in the “A” at Philips arena. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 24th and will feature Tip, as well as his fellow Grand Hustle artists: ?This is my last gift to my fans before I go away for a year. The $36.70 ticket represents the time I will serve while I?m away. Philips Arena will definitely be the place to be on May 24th!?
Since technically, T.I. was sentenced to one year and one day which is actually 366 days. There was talk of reducing the maximum price by .10 cents. At any rate, tickets may be still available with prices starting as low as $10.00 up to $36.70. (Source)
Speaking of Tip’s sentence, I did a post earlier this week citing an AP report which revealed that T.I. would only serve 2 months in jail after being credited for his 305 days of home confinement. The U.S. Attorney’s office has reached out to several outlets claiming that the AP’s report was inaccurate:
The AP reported that T.I. had been given credit for 305 days of home detention, “so his stay at Forrest City prison will likely be only two months.” But, according to Charysse Alexander, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, the news agency misread the sentencing report.
Alexander says the artist was indeed given credit for the 305 days of home confinement he served while awaiting trial in the case, but that has nothing to do with his prison sentence. She explained that, at best, according to federal sentencing guidelines, anyone who serves more than one year in prison is eligible for a 15 percent “good time” credit, which in T.I.’s case could shave at least 55 days off his sentence.
The confusion may have stemmed from mixing the credit for home confinement with the prison sentence, which are separate terms, Alexander said. Once T.I. completes the prison term, he will still have to serve out the remainder of his home confinement, she said, which will amount to about two months. (Source)
Strange thing is…I’ve seen no retraction from the Associated Press. Does that mean they’re sticking to their story?? Hmmmmm? *scratching head*
