Guess what boys and girls… there’s another installment of the popular movie “FRIDAY” in the works!
Mike Epps, who portrayed “Day-Day” in the flick, recently teased fans with a photo from the set of the new “FRIDAY” as well as a video with the movie’s co-creator, Ice Cube.
Epps shared the photo above featuring him, Ice Cube, and John Witherspoon on set in a kitchen setting with a camera and a crew member with the following caption:
“Ice Cube spitting game on the set is always Gold @johnwitherspoon was a damn fool today … had me rolling! Get ready for @thebig3 coming this summer!!”
Epps who played Ice Cube’s cousin (Day-Day) in the second and third installment of the popular movie, also shared a video from the set excitedly proclaiming, “We Working!!”
While an official announcement has yet to be made, it’s clear that “Craig & Day-Day” are back as Epps states in the video above, “I’m sitting here with big bro. We working!” Cube leans into the shot to respond, “Craig and Day-Day!”
The original “Friday” movie was released in 1995. The comedy was directed by F. Gary Gray in his directorial debut and starred Ice Cube, who co-wrote the film with DJ Pooh and Chris Tucker in his first starring role. The film’s success spawned two sequels: “Next Friday” (2000) and “Friday After Next” (2002).
For the record, Chris Tucker has stated numerous times that he will not be filming another Friday flick, but many fans are still hopeful to see him one day reprise the role of “Smokey”.
The latest “Friday,” which will be the fourth installment of the series, has been in the works for several years but finally received the green light as of April 2017, according to John Witherspoon, who plays Cube’s father in all three films.
What are your thoughts about Mike Epps and Ice Cube’s teasers? Are you ready for the final installment of the FRIDAY series?
