Usher Raymond channeled his inner ‘Fonzworth Bentley’ as he color coordinated his umbrella with his outfit last night in New York (June 1, 2015).
The superstar crooner, who was in the news recently after filing his 3rd restraining order against the same over zealous ‘superfan’ (click HERE if you missed that), he hit the red carpet during the NY premiere screening of Netflix’s highly anticipated Nina Simone documentary, “What Happened, Miss Simone?,” which was held at The Apollo Theater New York City.

Using recordings of Simone interviews and glimpses of diary entries to tell the tale, the film unflinchingly delves into manic depression, bipolar disorder and the cycle of abuse while providing plenty of powerful performance footage.
The film also received an explosive mini tribute concert from Simone devotee Lauryn Hill last night, as she hit the stage at the Apollo for a rousing performance which featured surprise guest Jazmine Sullivan.
Hill is one of the featured artists on an upcoming tribute album titled, “Nina Revisited … A Tribute to Nina Simone,” alongside Usher, Common, Mary J. Blige and others. It’s scheduled for released on June 30th.
