Bow Wow’s ex-girlfriend Joie Chavis gave birth to his baby girl Shai last year and the proud papa, who fully intends to spoil his daughter, Shai rotten, recently revealed that fatherhood has definitely changed him for the better.
“It just really made me go harder,” says Moss,
“It just made me understand life a little bit more. One thing that it definitely taught me was some patience, and I’m definitely still working on that. She’s the best thing to happen to me. A woman will tell you, the dude gon’ always be the same, it’s the woman that got to go through that [change].
For me, I feel the same, no different than who I was three, four years ago.”
A whole lot has changed in those 3/4 years too. Bow was feared to be suicidal after tweeting about dying but he soon said that his daughter Shai gave him a reason to live.
And while he didn’t originally put his name on Shai’s birth certificate, he has made it known that he fully intends to be the father that he never had.

Gone are the days Bow Wow walked around town flashing hundred dollar bills on the street. He’s really matured and even explains that he’s nervous about his daughter ever dating a guy like him…

It only weird to those that still picture this young man as a child. He ain’t been Lil Bow Wow in a long time. The fact that he did become a father at 23 is quite a feat considering most of his black male counterparts had children before their 18th birthday…so Kudos to him for waiting a few more years than normal.

I applaud him for everything he does. Shad is a great father and does more than these deadbeat sorry ass excuses for sperm whatevers do… These boys need to learn from him. He had a child and he stepped up as a man to take care of his child… Like A said, Bow was thinking of killing himself and Shai was his Guardian Angel that saved his life… Shes great and amazing and the world will be handed to her by Shad… Too bad people are still going to judge him for his life but in my eyes ….. He’s grown into a man … I am now and always will be a fan… And even more I give him MAD RESPECT for being a great dad!!!!!

I don’t really like giving men props for taking care of their kids because that’s what they’re supposed to do. I mean, I have yet to get the key to any city for being the wonderful mom that I am. However, I won’t shade Bow Wow. I’ll just say it’s good to see him handle his responsibilities as she should. Lil Shai is adorable! I wish them well in the future.

Yes, Chad did deny his daughter in the beginning probably out of fear of being a daddy and the anger of feeling trapped by a woman, but I’m sure once he realized it takes two and besides the fact that his mother talked some since into him, he also thought about how his dads absence made him feel growing up. He also knows what voids can be left in a female child growing up in life without love from her daddy. He’s been in Hollywood long enough to know he doesn’t want to be responsible for his daughter being the next generation Video Vixen ruining her life all because he abandoned her. So people do make mistakes and at least he has owned up to his wrong doing. In the time a honorable caring Man spends with his child he will certainly grow to love them in his heart.
