Remember Jermaine “Huggy” Hopkins, the lil fat kid Principal Joe Clark got in line on “Lean On Me”?
No? Well lemme refresh your memory…
Well Hopkins is all grown up now… and was recently arrested on a huge drug charge.
While it’s apparent from his mugshot the chubster doesn’t do crack, he definitely has a BIG THING for the ganja and he needs to do better… EXPEDITIOUSLY!

Hopkins, who played Thomas Sams in the 1989 movie “Lean On Me” and alongside Tupac Shakur as Steele in the 1992 movie “Juice” posed for the mugshot above after he was arrested for allegedly attempting to purchase 200 pounds (yes POUNDS!) of marijuana from an undercover officer.
The 38-year-old actor now lives in North Carolina but traveled to all the way to Maricopa County, Arizona (which shoulda been a red flag since it’s the exact same area that hemmed DMX up all those years) to make a drug deal last Tuesday.
According to authorities, cops in Maricopa County set up a sting operation and Hopkins arrived with the cash. After the rotund actor took possession of the dope, cops promptly pulled over the SUV her was driving and took him into custody.
Cops searched the vehicle and found $100k in cash (meaning he probably had double that amount). They also searched Hopkins’ Arizona apartment and claim they found an additional 100 pounds of weed.
Hopkins says he only got involved in the drug deal to provide a nice Christmas for his family. Now he’ll spend Christmas in jail if his $35,000 bond isn’t posted and faces another 5 Christmases (years) in prison if convicted. (source)
