Word on the curb is that The Mo’Nique Show is on the chopping block!
BET’s late night talk show, hosted by Monica Imes AKA Mo’Nique along with her sidekick Rodney Perry, would have started its third season this fall but rumor has it, the show has been cancelled.
The Academy award winning actress/comedienne, who was just honored by Big Boi’s Big Kidz Foundation, has been plagued in recent months with reports of disputes between she and some of her higher ups at the network.
Besides all the talk show hoopla, Mo’Nique is reportedly scheduled to appear in a new new movie called “Bumped,” which is currently in pre-production.
Stay tuned…
If BET really does can The Mo’Nique Show, will you miss it?
*UPDATE 7/27/11 ~ 3:38pm: Rodney Ho of AJC’s Radio & TV Talk just confirmed that the show has been cancelled. He received confirmation of the cancellation from Comedian Rodney Perry via text message.
At about 1:30 p.m., I called Rodney Perry, who was Mo’Nique’s sidekick on the show. He said he was running into a meeting and didn’t answer my question. While I was at lunch over at the mall court, at 1:40 p.m. EST, he texted me:
“I was told indefinite hiatus.” READ MORE
So now that you know for sure… do you still feel the same?

damn yeah i am going to miss it – it was a good show but the time slot was effed up for it was going against the news and the big dawgs (leno/letterman and conan) hopefully it can get picked up by another network.
Nop. But I am happy she stopped screaming at me err damn night!
Not at all but, I do wish her the best of luck on all of her future endeavors
No i wont miss it, i guess because i never really watched it.
No
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Why did they cancel it ???
Nope
Good picture
No Month no!
she needs work on ” how to interview people ” I like her but the truth is the truth !
No, I didn’t watch it. She was always screaming in the mic. Why Monique? Why?
I think it started off rough, but it got better. She should be on at an ealier time. She too loud for 11pm. LOL! Good Guest though.
Nope, never watched it
Definitely not too ghetto, over dramatic and over the top. I think she had an opportunity to really influence many people lives, however her ghetto tactics were just too much for me. She had wonderful guest however the show with her hosting it just wasn’t cutting it for me.
Yes, but they don’t have to cancel her show but just turn down the volume a bit so we won’t have to do it because she is too loud!
No I will not miss all that yelling lol
Not one bit… true story!
No!!
I will be alright…
No. I stopped watchin a long time ago b/c the yelling was annoying. She always has great guest but I couldnt bring myself to watch again. I agree with previous comments the time slot was bad plus her energy would better suit daytime tv! Good luck with future endeavors!!! She is fortunate to have her hands in other things so her cash flow will be consistent.
they should have made her show a day time talk show
Personally, not really, but not because of her. In general, shows of recent tend not to have enough originality appeal to me.
Yaayyy!! I never watched her anyway, voice is just annoying.
I never watched an entire episode. While BET is canceling the Mo’Nique Show they should cancel themselves as well. BET is so 20 years ago with all their Huck-a-buckin and Bo’Jangaling
Amen!
Mo’ has to be the absolutely worst interviewer EVER! Everyone is ‘baby’ sistah’ brotha’ "i love what you doing’. She could stand to learn some things from Gayle and try not to be Oprah 2.2
We need to support our black shows. Need to watch something positive because these reality shows nothing but drama and portrait negatives image. I like that show. It was a great concept and impact seeing our professional blacks artist.
BABY, no!!!!
Mo’Nique got a show?!
Hell-to-the-NO(in my MADEA voice) lol
B.E.T. MESSED UP WITH ME WHEN THEY CANCELED MIDNIGHT LOVE TOO ME AND WHEN THEY TOOK THE ENTERTAINMENT OUT OF B.E.T..
yes
Nope was a bit too ghetto for me lol. But I liked her dedication. Kind of reminded me of mother love.

I agree with everyone who said she needs to work on her interviewing skills. She NEVER discovers anything that we the audience havent already read somewhere else. I love her comedy and hope that she does well in the future but it is very annoying to see her have such great guests and do such a lousy job interviewing them!
I agree she need to stick to sitcoms she loud annoying, need to learn better interview skills. No I will not miss her show.
While I respect her hustle to a degree, I thought the show overall was going to be cancelled. It appeared she was trying too hard to connect with her audience. I doubt if any other network would pick up her show if BET cancels it.
Sorry… no
Bet should keep the show on ,we really don’t have many Black shows that relate to our culture. I love Mo’Nique show. Bet please renew for new season. A big fan
nooooooooooo, now i can finally have drink without spillin it
When Bob Johnson sold the only African American Media outlet to the competing White Media Music outlet I was done. They could control the media view of Black America and they sold out. They cut all news media, Tavis got fired, Cousin Jeff got fired, Tigga and Free got ran out. Now you put Monique on the chopping block, it doesn’t matter I’ve been done.
look…im not happy if any 1 loses their job but this show has had its days. monique is not a good host. so it won’t be missed at all
No i won’t miss the show, she is too loud on that damn show….i will support whtevr movie she is on,but that show ain’t right for her…..
FYI… AJC Radio and TV Talk just confirmed the rumors… http://blogs.ajc.com/radio-tv-talk/2011/07/27/atlanta-based-the-monique-show-canceled/
sorry to hear that for those who had a steady income rollin in on behalf of monique. may they have other gigs lined up soon.
now centric gotta stop showin steve harvey project show. more funnier hearing them than lookin at a bunch of middle aged folk that have absolutely nothin to talk about
age aint a factor but it’s sad seeing them try to be funny when it’s not in their character
kinda like monique trying to stay positive and call every 1 her baby. she knew half the damn time she thought some of her guests were boring and lame
Heellll naw! Aint nobody gon miss that chit! What’s to miss? Mo screaming to the top of her damn lungs? Rodney and his lame ass unfunny jokes? Mo wearing a damn dress errr night with them same shoes from 4 years ago? Hmmph I think not! They should give somebody else a chance that’s black with a tad bit more class and funnier that can carry the show!
Nope, but goodluck Mo’!
Yaaaaaaay!
BET SUCKS!
Did anyone even watch her show?…she’s a great actress but that show just got on my damn nerves
I think it became too much for her! The show started to feel tired! I think she should lay low for a while and hit us with a great film, since she now has an academy award! As viewers, we sometimes saw or felt the” bafoonery “,if you will, and may have disconnected with the show in all! Anywhoo………God bless her and guide her!
Seriously? Wow…..
i was not a fan of that show at all. i’m all for african american’s having shows and things but she was annoying and WAY over the top!! Always yelling and so dramatic when she talked :-/
No really. I watched every now and then. Too much sugga this and baby that!! No, won’t miss it at all! However, I wish her well in all that she does!
CTFU @ Megan. u aint neva lying with those wrap dresses and non matchin shoes. lets not talk about rodney sitting there like a bump on the log. mo never really gave him a chance.
She should just go back to being Miss Parker! I’ll always watch that. lol
I will not miss seeing those hairy legs. *shrugs*
Yessss! Who the he’ll wants to hear all that damn yelling so late at night?
Thank God. I hate that stupid show.
Nope!
Not even a little
God bless anyone who tries to make Black people happy. Her show was not that bad. Also it was better than what we had or what we got now. Think about it
No it wasn’t…black people were happy with oprah…what the hell did anyone learn from the mo’nique show…and what the hell does color have to do with anything…it’s on TV…white people watch tv too…BET included
Yeeeeeeees!!!!!! I’m glad I hated that show! It was terrible!
LOL@ BET should cancel themselves. LOL
No the yelling was a bit much. The same dress in different colors was a bit much, oh and the same shoes. The hairstyle had to go. Rodney cutting in was doing too much. It was too much for the 11pm slot.
I need to be mellow in my bed. Aresnio wasnt yelling at midnite. I dont know. I watch Martin on TV One. Need a good night time laugh as I dose off.
Yes, she had some GREAT guest… btw this is coming from a teenager. I was shocked when her show came out and the older audience as well as my teens didn’t like it.
I’d like to see Comic View return (to fill her 11PM slot), maybe hosted by Lil Duval.
Who gives a fuck? I aint mad at her. She got paid and that’s what its all about. Do what I do. When she is on I just change the channel! Simple as that.
Mo’s interviewing skills suck. All she’d say is "baby baby baby". I wont miss her.
BAABIII! I GUESS I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE IRRITATED BY HER YELLIN’ ASS!

I won’t miss Monique’s half wig self. Always wears the same half wigs.
I couldn’t get with all that hollering about BAABBY…I use to pass right by it on BBT!But, good luck with your future endeavors,Monique!
It was good sometimes, but they say “all things must come to an end”! Shit I would watch George Lopez before her.

I’m upset that we don’t support our black people. I really like her show. When they don’t get that support, they don’t renew. Then they put a bunch of crap on tv,like the Basketball wives
BET needs to be revamped or go away.
Yes I will definitely missed the show & very dissappointed to hear of the cancellation. I loved Monique! She was very entertaining, fun, & passionate! When 1 door closes another opens!!! ya Monique!!!
I will miss the show! B.E.T should have thought twice before they did that. However she will still succeed! I dont think her yelling was annoying. All of you are black like me and thats what we do YELL!!!! So shut it with that foolishness
Her show centered around Black Successful People. How you guys who are African Americans gonna say you wont miss a show that represented us. STUPID PEOPLE

Watching that show was like waiting to get a shot. You know it’s gonna hurt sooner or later.
Whoever said that show was not that bad, you been watching too much BET. People deserve better thank that. She was good on the radio. Thats where she needs to go back. Too much drama and she expected her guest to act just as ghetto as she acted. We can do better.
If this is the case it saddens me when high profile network, and actor/comedian cannot come to terms on the matter thats @ hand but know this monique is one of a kind lady, mother, hell of actress, comedian and BET BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION IS A BLESSING TO US AS WELL,WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER MORE ON EVERY ASPECT OF THE WORLD WE ARE GETTING THERE BUT WE STILL GOT A LONG WAY TO GO. SO IV’E GOT ONE THING TO SAY,GOD BLESS AMERICA,OUR PRESIDENT IS BLACK! By saying that we been fighting all of our lives lets not continue to fight each other it so un godly because we tend to show our human of the flesh side @ all times when there’s no no need to dont think about the money, fame, glitz etc… Dont you that these are blessings that we are recieving from God trust me when I say God is in charge. Much love and blessings to BET,MONIQUE,RODNEY,BIG JIM AND THE PENTHOUSE PLAYERS,DJ ANT LOVE AND THE WORLD(Give GOD praise cause he is worthy to be praise stand on his word hold your head up and your blessings will come it hurts me to see something so good goes to waste, and for what ego’s for what.I will pray for your strength in the lord as I pray for myself.Ms.Pat
Loved your show but you need to apologize to Tyrese Gibson. You did put that statement he wrote out there and then said something totally different when called on it. Check your mouth sista! PEACE
her style of interviewng was a tad bit off…she isnt as well versed as she needs to be…also the loud boisterous voice was an automatic turn off…better luck next time mo…
and what was the purpose of that guy…rodney perry?????…with the toothy tight eyed grin…it was a lil annoying…
i longed for this day but now im not quite so happy!
I don’t celebrate in any one elses lost. However this show DID NOT represent me as a black indvidual.neither does these igonorant reality shows.. I am a representive of myself. I am an individual who happens to be black. YES I support black business, tv, et, not becaus their black, but because they portray something that I could truly be proud of…we can do better!
I hate that the show has been cancelled, she wasn’t suppose to act, talk, or be like the other talk shows host, or we couldv’e just kept watching jay leno, & the other ones @ night now we won’t have that choice, send memo the other talk show hosts & tell ‘em how grateful you are that they are on.
One thing though, when will they give us a Black Studded show, maybe out of the few months we might get a little Blackness in there. Let’s not hate, but see how much we can appreciate. On to Wendy, now thats the show that should’ve been cancelled, but they got her there to talk about Black celebrities, don’t have that many on her show, & have jersey shore people on there all the time.
Yes. Mo’Nique was positive and embraced her guest and audience. I think she and Rodney worked well together and after a long day, provided for much needed laughter, good conversations/interviews, great entertainment/music, and nothing but the best of black love (which she showed her viewers every night). I hope that she will continue to be her sweet, affectionate, and loving self. We need more Mo’Nique smiles and laughter in this world instead of the hater aide that’s so prominent.
The truth is Mo’Niques talent does not lye in interviewing people. It just was not the right job for her….if you remember her radio show got cancelled too! She should stick to what works for her, movie roles (depending on the film) A variety show or sitcom would be perfect for her as well she does a great job hosting the BET Awards. I applaude her for trying as we must in order to find out what works for us. I knew after the first season and several re-runs and repeat guest where the show was going. Good luck Mo….and by the way she needs people around her that she can trust. I think her husband is shady!
…Not even a little. My partner was a fan of the show so I was forced to watch while trying not to appear to cringe at the ignorant questions, screaming of baby suga honey chile…Oh it was a little too hood for me. Please oh Please BET bring us some Class…and fast!!
LOL At the comments!
The show had realistic class. Shame on the issues that caused us not to enjoy her show
I’m going to miss the show, and I think a lot of you will miss it too. Especially when see less and less of people of color on the air in a positive arena. Yes Mo is loud, but she gave us an opportunity to see and meet many interesting people.
I miss Mo.
I will miss Monique simply because she had guests on her show that you did not see on any other show or you have not seen in a long years. The Five Heartbeats show, very good and there were others. Monique was not the best interviewer, however she did her best. I hate it when blacks get booted off of TV…there are no blacks on late night except Wendy Williams and her show is actually a daytime show that comes on at 11pm….the best late night show ever was Arsenio Hall. I agree with whoever said BET should fire themselves because they have a chance to have something good and they mess it up…We must remember, they are owned by VIACOM an arm of CBS so what do you really expect…
I am 57 yrs young and I enjoyed me so Mo. She had wonderful guess, young and old. That is what I appreciated. Her show had a down home feel to it. I did not consider it to be getto. I live and was raise in South central LA, I know what getto acting is. Bet you need to bring her back. I don’t want to see reality all the4 time. Her show was very informative. Bet do you really know the black fill, your awards shows is more getto…terry c.
They should reconsider… Only cause TBS is cancelling Lopez too, and there’s got to be a minority-based late night show on air? Conan, Leno, Ferguson, Fallan, Carson Daily – should get revamped – I too think there was no originality, but supported the show and her efforts! – Deuces Mo!
Also, I found it VERY Informative as far as Black Community goes – PROGRESSION PEOPLE, Sure she didn’t have BIG name acts on there NIGHTLY, but they do stop thru, it’s just not that many big black celebs/entertainers to have 3-4 on nightly endlessly – I found the up and comers to be more interesting anyhow (or those behind the scenes, less known, but doing BIG THANGS! Peez Mo!
OH… BLACK PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THAT SHE’S ALL WE HAVE! THERE ARE NO OTHER LATE NIGHHT SHOWS ON ANY NETWORK NOW! WE CAN BRING BACK "THE GAME" WHICH IS A PHONY SHOW ABOUT LIFESTYLES THE AVERAGE BLACK PERSON IS NOT LIVING (PRO SPORTS LIFESTYLE IS ABOUT 1 IN A MILLION, SO DON’T TRIP) BUT CAN’T SUPPORT REAL ISH? REAL TALK! BAND TOGETHER AND LET’S NOT SIT DOWN… BRING HER BACK!
nope hell no! "wrapped your arms around yoself, sweet babies" Really? was monique recarnated by foxy brown aka Pam Grier? Horrible just horrible! I’m confident she’ll be okay. thats why I say she should have been cancelled Mucho luv tho!!
I am upset that Monique’s show was cancelled…..How dare you BET. WHY???? I love Monique and Rodney and her show was AWESOME. Please bring her back.ASAP
B.E.T. has a track record for cancelling shows that informative and entertaining. I enjoyed watching the Monique Show each and every night. I’m not watching B.E.T. anymore. Someone please start a petition….
I am saddened by the news of the cancellation. It was always a treat having the opportunity to see artists of color that are at the top of their game, and more so, those that were great at one point and were still active behind the scene. As stated by many others, the opportunity to see these artist is extremely limited and I credit the show for being aggressive and nurturing in this area. We need to find ways to encourage one another and not take the bashing outlet so quickly. At the end of the day, we are all that we have to keep us motivated and encouraged in this tough economy and society!
I am really upset about this monique show was great best u ought to be ashame cancelling one of your best shows I am really disapointed if u hwve any dignity please I am begging for monique back a positive role model I love her she brought people back who people thougjt they nevet see again then she had all the best people bet I am really dissapointed bet has really went down thumbs down u have lost one fan of bet I dont watch to much bet.but monique was one show I look forward to
Bring monique back now
Monique I love u I will be looking for u again u cant keep a strong will and minded sister down we will meet again I love ypu monique keep yo ou r head up girl u r the best I think u r a good role model and u tell like it is and u say it like u mean it yo girl if u dont respect yourself no one else will u show that I am really devastated cuz u r one of the best shows bet have all they play is reruns wnd that stupid 106 an park u was positive dont.worry about the negative its bet loss cuz.u will be back one day bigger and better
Wow I’m shocked! I had no idear her rateing were so low!
YALL ARE SO STUPID. tHIS LADY IS ONE OF THE BEST HOST AND ACTUALLY HAD PEOPLE WE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT. IF SHE WAS LOUD THEN U NEED TO TURN YOUR VOLUME DOWN ON THE T.V THEN ON TOP OF THAT OUR OWN BLACK PEOPLE DONT SUPPORT BALCK TV SHOWS. YALL ARE REALLY STUPID!!!!
What’s up with all the hate.We as black people love to pull one another down. What other black talk show do we have,so what if she were loud it was a positive show.I think her interview with her guest was great, what more did you want her to ask what color underwear they had on.It is funny how you people have nothing bad to say about the white late nite shows but one black late nite show you want to throw the book at.She should take her show to TV ONE it is a better fit for her.TV ONE is for grown folks, BET is for the hip hop generation!
The show must go on. I dont care its another station I’ll follow her.
I loved the show! It motivated the “ghetto” young woman like myself. I’m more country than ghetto
.. I thought it was very positive n relatable FOR ME. these other shows should be cancelled. Man.. There aren’t any good shows on tv nowadays. It’s all crap.. All I watch is youtube. Monique then Wendy. That’s how I liked to end my day.
Leave monique on da air… PLEASE!
Yes!!!! Leave Mo’Nique on the air. I don’t know her personally and didn’t watch every episode to the end of the show. Nonetheless, I’ll share what the show meant to me. She may be loud and boisterous however it seems as if SHE WAS BEING HERSELF! Mo"Nique appeared to be REAL people, not a pretender. I couldn’t stand her filthy mouth and would shut the show down. BUT! Wait! Wait a minute! Hear this! #1 She’s a Black Woman! She’s a Black woman who encourages and supports Black people. She talks about Black, she walks the Black, she uplifts Blacks, she did all this and more for Black people. Where do we find this? What other Black Host/Show supports Black people like her show. She was a positive factor. When Black people or people in general felt discouraged about themselves and their lives, she was there to redirect them in a positive direction. People who were fat and over-weight and found it to be challenging and overwhelming to lose weight she was there to encourage fat people to embrace and be comfortable with themselves. Later she promoted healthy living. She was encouraging by demonstrating to fat people, Black people, and to anyone who wanted to live healthier and lose weight that it was possible to meet that challenge. She lived the example. She began to eat healthier and lose weight. She encouraged Black people to develop their skills and talents. She encouraged people to love themselves. She was an inspiration in many ways. Interviewing and "proper" language skills may not be her strengths. What we term "proper language" ain’t the Black man’s culture/language anyway. But we won’t go there. However, it’s what she brought to the table is what counts. Supporting the idea of keeping "Black" alive should be a good meal for any Black man/woman’s table. So, don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Bring Mo’Nique back!
I see from some of the posts that I was not the only one that felt a bit put off by the loud monologue…though she explained that it came from the need to project her voice when playing in venues where the audience strained to hear her from the back.
As for this cancellation, I believe her good points outweighed the bad. She positively impacted many across the nation along with the fact that she gave African/Black Americans a voice where they could share their causes that, let’s face it, wouldn’t have any other media forum (unless you personally followed their individual websites).
Hopefully this can be resolved and if not maybe she and Oprah can strike up a deal for the OWN channel…
The Own channel sounds great, however, I’m not so sure Oprah is into Mo’Nique. Oprah is of a different caliber. I wonder if Oprah will be concerned about the stigma of "Black" that is attached to Mo’Nique. That what makes Mo’Nique so special. She’s out there with the "Black" and she’s not afraid of the "Black thing." Once upon a time Oprah was Mo’Nique’s idol. It would be nice if she gave Mo’Nique a break. After all, she opened her doors to Rosie. Why not give Mo’Nique the same opportunity?
i miss watching her show! and i dont give a damn about her being loud because that was just the way she was, and she was also a very honest and real person that told it like it was
I cant believe Monique’s show was cancelled.. I enjoyed hearing from artist that we dont normally here from. What happened?
Say it ain’t so u can’t cancel the show that allow us to flow as artists. Unsigned talent never had such a platform like The Mo Show since The Arseno Hall show. It would ne another blow to take seeing that things are taking everyday we need the Monique show. Hopefully I too could perform in her show one day. Love you Mo Show Derelict
Wow what negative energy is presented on here, most of you are using profanity, name calling, and discussing someone fashion sense, as a opionio about the show, what negative black people. She had guest from every age group, and getting to see them on a more personal level, than on a movie or a stage was a wonderful thing, After all she is a comedy actor, but manage to get the love from our heroes in politics, music as well as film. crabs in a barrel, When I look at mainstream T.V we are absent very much so.
Mo, did a good job for what she was dealing with. she brought black people out that we did not know was still alive. Oprah did her thing with the whites. Black people is loud anyway so why pretend to satisfy another set of people at least she was real. We will never have nothing as black people because we have never and will ever stick together. We may not agree but we should support our own. She hired alot of black people. She is only canceled because she did not bring that white drama on tv. They took off George Lopez. We dont have nothing as it is. Just keep hating so they will have your black behines back in the cotton fields..
now BET needs to get that wee-hours-in-the-morning plant your seed bunch of gospel scams off the air. except for Kerny Thomas…he could have a comedy show…he IS entertaining!
MY AND MY CO-WORKERS MAY NEVER WATCH B.E.T AGAIN, IM TOLD ITS NOW OWNED BY CHINNISE PEOPLE,SENCE WHEN HAS CHINNESE TRULY EVERY CARED WHAT BLACK NEED AND WANT IN THEIR LIFE. THE ENTIRE CALIFORNIA BLACK COMMUNITY AN OTHER BLACK COMMUNITIES AROUND THE COUNTRY ARE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CEO,STAFF,ETC.AT BET.WE WILL HOPE LOTS MORE MONEY IS LOST THAN GAINED BY THE LACK OF REGUARD FOR OUR ENTERTAINMENT CHOICES.
DAMN YOU B.E.T MUST U TREAT BLACK THE WAY "THEY" TREAT US WHEN WE DISAGREE OR GET UP SET. I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENDED BUT, "THEY" SHUFFLE US AROUND ,SO WHAT SHE HAS A BIG MOUTH ,THAT WHAT WE LIKE IN HER. A WANT TO SEE SHE WAS A CLASSY HOSTESS. SHE TREATED EVERYONE LIKE FAM.BRING HER BACK…..!SO WHAT SHE WANTS MORE MONEY OR A BIGGER DRESSING ROOM.IF SHE WAS ,ROSANNE OR ROSIE O’DONALD U’D GIVE HER WHAT WAS NEEDED .FOKE GET ON MY DAMN NURVE SOMETIME.
I will truly miss her show. She had people on the show who otherwise I would have known anything about. Like for instance, the black child prodigy, a lot of black sisters and brothers are doing a lot of positive around the world which we hear nothing about. She also used her show as a catalyst to showcase the older acts, that no one really cared about anymore. Cherelle, Alexander O’neal, etc. Even though people thought she was a bit loud, or ghetto, and she may not have been the most well rehearsed interviewer, her show was very funny, and it is unfortunate that the show has been cancelled. I personally will truly miss it. I fear that we may never have anyone else with a talk show that is fearless enough to focus on our black community as a majority. I am truly proud that Mo’nique had her show for as long as she did. I felt she had a really diverse group of people that I NEVER saw on any of the other talk shows, I guess because they were not that "popular". At least she wasn’t trying to win popularity. She did her best in my opinion, to have people that would otherwise have not have had any exposure had it not been for her show, whether it was good, bad or indifferent. I will miss your show Mo’nique.
Hell yeah I am going to miss her show from the bottom of my heart
I loved the Monique show! It always made me laugh. I watched from Canada. The only "ghetto" that I can see is all you ignorant haters writing all your garbage all over this page. Monique was being herself. It’s not like you’ve never seen her in the media before. She’s loud and crazy! Deal with it. She’s also funny as hell, honest, and all she wanted to do was uplift black people. What have you done for the world lately? Spread hate? Good for you. Way to go. Some of the guests who she honoured on her show we would NEVER have otherwise seen on a talk show. Because you didn’t see them on TV before her show….and guess what…since the show is done who knows when you’ll se them again. If you can’t see that this is a loss, then you’re blind. You may not agree with the way she went about it, but at least she did something positive for a change. At least I knew when I turned on her show I could see positive image of amazing, successful black people. I miss you already Monique. Don’t let any of these negative people pull you down. There is more love for you out there…but sometimes the haters are louder. Don’t listen!!
This is the realist comment I heard! I miss it she was not ghetto an I’f you dent like it don’t watch it semple as that!!! What the fuck! Can y’all for once in ya life just give big ups to a black person doin there thang!! Damn if it was you you would want people to like you
I really miss the Monique show…All of her guest talked about how real everyone was on the show. That is someting you can’t fake. The band was on the money.. It could have used some fine tunning here and there. Other wise I loved it & her. What is there for us(Blacks)to see on tv now? Stay strong my Sister!!!
It seems to be a lot of longjohn sleeping ass women on this site saying things like this: "I’m glad she’s off, "She too loud, etc. Well tune your ass to OWN Network. I bet you want get an invitation to the show because it’s only designed for caucasion, rich women.
I liked the Monique show because she represented for the Black Entertainers, Actors and Actresses old and new, Great Job Monique. I hope you get picked up by a network like VH1.
i dont miss the show, but i miss the ‘option’ of watching once in a while… i think honestly that’s what we don’t get as black folks is having optional black entertainment. We seem to think if its not the best, its nothing to hold. Thats not true cause i consider myself a man of options and would not buy anything without a buffet selection. My money/attention is worth the time it takes to select a choice and though i wouldn’t watch Mo’nique nightly, i appreciate the ‘option’ to have that show as a selection on my menu of options. What if we went to a restaurant and the menu only had 3 selections? How many times would we go there after the third time? I’m no different than the rest or my people cause i didn’t care for the yelling, the terrible Mo’nologue w/Rodney’s off-putting interjections, but i appreciate him for his persona. The bottom line is i don’t like the show, but i still ‘had’ to DVR the show ‘every’ night then i picked and chose which show i watched when i felt like it. Mo is definately a personality icon and she will re-emerge somewhere else hopefully with a better support team and less yelling, but for real, she’s "Mo" so would we even accept her that way? For now, i’m going back to watch the 3am reruns of the show. Honestly, i think that when a show is cancelled against the cast and crews wishes on short-notice, there should be a customary wait period of 5 yrs b4 re-runs ‘can’ be showed on that network! We need to show respect to each other on higher levels of management and announce it because top management acts like teenagers too often and it sends a message to the ground-level that there is nothing better in the penthouse than the basement except sunlight!
Why are there SO many crabs on this page? You all get back to the bottom of the bucket-NOW!LOL I will certainly miss the Monique Show! She always had guests on there who you would NEVER see on any other talk show! Guests like Dwele, BBD, Special Ed, Yo-Yo, cast of Boyz In The Hood, ect. People that you had not seen in a minute and wondered what they were up too! Also, a lot of guests that were interesting who you never heard of before! I will miss the show because of that! BET needs to find another Host and bring that back! Monique is an Oscar winner, what did they expect from her, of course she’s going to be demanding!
hello No…she was too loud
Nope..no hate what so ever…just an honest opinion. She was over the top, anybody know an interviewer shouldn’t be that loud when the person is right in front of you. Its not about race, its just a fact. If we turnt our TV’s down then we couldn’t hear the the responding party. So now I don’t have to worry about changing my channel:/ Anyway she’s married, with a promising career..gd luck to her, and stop taking people’s opinion so personal because they will not change:)
I don’t miss it at all, I don’t think that it was a good show at all, she screams too much, I was surprised that it last that long!
I wish Monique all the best in her carreer, but please do comedy or films not talk show!
