Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott was featured on VH1’s “Behind the Music” last night and revealed several startling details about her past.
Elliott’s talents and her musical relationship with friend Timbaland launched them both into superstardom.
“I thought I had something that was unique,” said the hip-hop innovator. “I wanted to break down all barriers and be a risk taker.”
Elliott reveals on the show that she was sexually abused by a cousin and she also witnessed her father try to kill her mother. She also talks about the loss of her close friend Aaliyah, and her recent battle with Graves’ Disease.

Missy’s next project is her own new album “Block Party”, which she is currently working on with Timbaland.
I was telling somebody that we have been so far left in trying to stay creative and being different; we had to go back to the drawing board and just do it the way we loved to do it, and not be concerned with trying to outdo ourselves.
I can’t wait to see what Missy comes up with this time!
She sings, she raps, she writes AND produces! Missy Elliott is a musical powerhouse!! Can you think of any other artists who can do ALLLLL of that??
