…that he loves StraightFromTheA.com [blushing]… and that The Boondocks “PAUSE” episode didn’t faze him one bit!
I sat down with Tyler Perry briefly during this weekend’s Essence Music Festival and he spilled the beans to me about what’s really going on with all the rumored drama about how the racy adult cartoon portrayed him.
As you can see in the video, Tyler didn’t want to address the situation on camera, but he made no qualms about how he felt about the episode and the many rumors surrounding it.
That epic episode spawned several stories about Tyler firing his entire staff in order to “control any leaks of information.” There were also stories about Tyler filing a lawsuit against the show and it’s founder Aaron McGruder.
I asked Tyler how he felt about that Boondocks episode and while he didn’t want to go into detail on the subject, Tyler specifically addressed the two stories that are running the blog world right now:
Just like the Spike Lee situation, I feel that “no response” is the best response. I’m just gonna leave it at that…
But I will tell you this… there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I’m suing The Boondocks. Those are all lies. I’m not suing anybody over that.
And I haven’t fired anyone because of that show either. I don’t know where all that came from.
Tyler seems to have more of a sense of humor than y’all give him credit for… and Me? I’m just happy I got some TP love… especially after reading this quote from Tyler’s ‘people’ when asked about the situation:

Tyler Perry is too above that nonsense. Aaron McGruder is always trying to call someone out, but he is one that never dates brown or dark skin black women and has an obsession with all things gay( maybe YES closet homo…pause). At the end of the dat, what the Boondocks did was a spoof. There are similarities for sure, but unlike the Obama or “let’s nab Oprah” episodes, they never used his name.
Tyler was probably salty about it for a minute ( who wouldn’t be) but there’s nothing he can do but move on. The joke was on him that time but believe me, Tyler isnt losing any sleep over it.

I agree, im not going to lie when he first came out with his plays, I liked them, but the more I started looking into what was really going on, I thought it was trash also!! I think this episode was hilarious, Tyler has always gotten flack from people about the Madea character. I think he is right by not responding, I don’t think any takes that episode seriously.

i not a fan TP movies (personality, i think his plays were a little better, but i like house of payne) but more or less, his movie are just "soap operas" for black women and there nothing wrong with that, but there no substance or lasting quality in his movies.

Let’s look at the facts, the Madea charachter is a low comedy drag show at best. Tyler casts hot men who he would like to poke him. And, he acts like the lack girl at boy’s camp. Who cares who he sleeps with? I understand that his church crowd would abandom him if he came out, but audiences should let people be who they are. Or, maybe he should allow his audience to rise to the occaision with truth. Either way, the episode of Boondocks was hilarious.

Who dose not have a problem with someone at some point most of us do.
McGruder has been doing this for over decade now. Its political humor,,, very very smart writing with top voice acting and great animation story boarding. I don’t always agree with Aaron and a few times offended, but every episode makes me think, question or learn far beyond the Tyler thing if he is gay. The man admitted that his body betrayed him. If he’s not gay he’s not. If he is i feel bad for him and he should be allowed to come out. To be rich and famous and have to hide who you really to me is a burden or cross to bare that can eat at your well being over time in the form of breakdowns, depression, exhaustion ect.. money can help but I don’t think it could fix it.

Tyler Pery is terrible. He is the worst film maker to walk this planet. All of his films and shows? Are terrible. He stereotypes his own people by percieving them as loud, ignorant, speech impaired and down right annoying. That Boondocks episode was the funniest thing to ever have his insufferable Madea character featured in. I can go on and talk about all of the reasons why his movies and shows are terrible (and there are a lot) but I really don’t feel like it. Simply put Tyler Perry is and idiot and amateur film maker whose movies are repetitive and boring with no meaning or soul to make real film goers leave and remember them for longer than a few seconds.
