NeNe Leakes Feels Misunderstood…

NeNe Leakes says shes pissed off about Bravo’s portrayal of her during the 2nd season of the hit series The Real Housewives of Atlanta and she’s not taking it anymore! Leakes, who is shown during the final episode arguing with fellow castmates Kandi Burruss and allegedly choking Kim Zolciak says it’s not fair that she’s being made out the be the villain. In a recent Essence interview, NeNe lets it all out about how the show is scripted (no surprise) and edited in a way that’s not flattering to her true self:
Why are you so upset about the show’s portrayal of you now?
Yes, I know that’s what they do, but the first season they didn’t edit me. It happened this season because we have a different show runner and this season has been a lot more planned and scripted. Last season they just let us go which made for a great show, but this time around, the show runner will say something like, you need to go over there and talk to Kim about “Tardy for the Party.” They’ve also been making a lot of changes to the sequence of events. For instance, we all arrived to Sheree’s fashion show late because there was a huge car accident, and when we arrived they all ushered us to our seats and the show began immediately, but when you see the episode they show me talking to Kandi which is not what happened.
This finale really makes me look like I’m the villain, as if I choked Kim. There’s a scene where I’m mad at Kim and they make it seem like I’m mad about her not wanting me on the song “Tardy for the Party,” when in fact she and I discussed that already and afterwards attended Sheree’s independence party and had a good old time. The reason I was mad at Kim was because we all attended the Bravo A-list Awards and I found out that she has been talking sh- about me, Lisa and Sheree to the New York and Orange County housewives and that’s why I was upset.The producers told Kim I was upset and gave us time to talk, but once they realized they couldn’t use the language (meaning there couldn’t be any mention of the Bravo A-list awards) they did additional pick up shots to create [our beef] as something else. For instance, during last week’s episode featuring Kandi’s engagement party they had Kim’s stylist, Derek J, come to her house and do her hair as if she were getting ready for the party that night, and Kim told him NeNe isn’t coming for the party. Well, that was a pick up shot that the producers did after that fact. None of the ladies knew I wasn’t showing up until after the party because I was dressed and ready to walk out the door when I decided not to go. The reason I didn’t go is because Kandi and I had had an argument and I felt that this was to be a joyous occasion and I just didn’t think I should be there after she and I argued.
What did you and Kandi argue about?
After Kim and I got into a disagreement, Kandi came to me and said, “Well, NeNe, I heard you’ve been talking about me also.” I said,” Who? What? When?” Kandi proceeds to tell me that the producers told her I had a conversation with them and was saying all this stuff about her. I went bananas because I was just out having dinner with one of the producers she claimed told her that who just happens to be the show runner. I even took him on the red carpet with me to the opening of the W and fed his ass, so I was pissed. However, the viewers won’t see any of that and the scene makes it appear that I’ve started this argument with Kandi and tell her she’s not interesting for no reason. It’s very unfair.
NeNe also states that she was the “original” housewife and it was she who referred all of the other “housewives” to the show. She feels somewhat betrayed by Bravo in their portrayal of her as this evil, manipulative person. It also seems like she feels the other woman owe her for the success of the show.
Everyone keeps talking about one housewife leaving next season, could it possibly be NeNe? The only real “housewife” there? She’s definitely been on her grind with all the red carpet coverage and appearances on several shows, so I wouldn’t be too surprised to see her venturing out into other territories. In fact, NeNe actually says she’s already been offered her own show but has no desire to continue in “Reality” television. She sees herself as a correspondent or talk show host.

October 21, 2009 @ 9:31 amI concur with NeNe that this season of RHOA made NeNe look like a pure beyotch azz. Hell, I wanted to take NeNe to the cornfields and whip that azz for real.
NeNe was my favorite housewife last year. But this year, she came in last right after the token white girl.
I understand NeNe’s disappointment with Bravo’s portrayal of her but she gave them the material to use.

And, I find it mighty funny that NeNe has all these complaints towards Bravo this season but, last season when Sheree and Kim looked like to kiss asses NeNe wasn’t complaining then. Now they’re showing the moose for what she really is… A ghetto loud mouth. NeNe has a problem. NeNe, chile go buy a new wig and STFU!

Anyways. I love nene to death, I think she is the realist one out of all these housewives. I dont believe that nene choaked kim I think kim is a liar. Nene Indeed makes the show, theres no doubt about it. The Realhousewives of Atlanta would not be the same and Myself as well as the rest of The world would not watch that show if it were not for nene

October 22, 2009 @ 1:31 amSounds like someone isn’t happy AGAIN which is the whole problem she has had on season 1 & 2. The problem isn’t with how BRAVO edits…..it’s her mouth. No matter what, those words coming out of her mouth are not manipulations even BRAVO can pull off. She said these things. Most of her interviews or blogs she dishes out the hate constantly. NeNe is loud mouth, ALWAYS has a negative opinion and thinks she is entitled to voice it no matter what and screw everyone else who wants to do the same. She is looking like a really fake, mean hypocrite which I think is her true nature. If she did choke or even put her hands on someone in anger kinda defeats the purpose of having a domestic violence organization huh?? As long as she is the aggressor it’s ok? Great role model. I think most of the drama she invented, started or made up to make herself look better which has seemed to backfired. I’m sure BRAVO will not be happy to hear now she is bad-mouthing them. Never bite the hand that feeds you.

Regarding assault: Kim including anyone who is has been physically assaulted by you should have had you arrested. You are a hypocrite, you were a victim of violence yet were and are are violent toward others, verbally and physically. You are a poor representative of victims, even though Twisted Hearts and the Heel the Soul- Stiletto Woman is rooted in good intentions, you tarnish it all due to your violent bulling tranny moosey behavior on the the show. If she handled herself differently, with more class, tact and respect for others, she wouldn’t be in this position. She’s too ready to cuss somebody out instead of having a conversation. So no matter what the producers did with “pick up shots” or whatever it’s still all her doing.

I think she tell it like it is rather it will hurt your feelings or not. One thing I can appreciate is a person that keeps it real. She may be loud at times, but that’s her. She’s not a “yes” man and she leads a situation in the best way she know how. This is the reason why needy A$$ people such as Kim need her friendship. Ne Ne keep it moving like you do and I know your not worried about those who can’t handle the truth or you!!

Nene has managed to play herself. It all started going downhill with, ‘Tardy For the Party’. The whole diatribe about how the song wont sell without her,blah,blah,etc. Now, the song is selling to spite her.
No amount of edits can make her say the quantity and quality of the things she has said this season. In reality, the major fight from the 1st season was in actuality started by her. Her singing the song in the car. And, of course Lisa was faithful to share what NeNe did to the rest of the girls.
I concur that producers should drop her at this point. She may already be looking at a lawsuit from Kim. And, I agree 2000% that she may lack the emotional IQ at this point to chair her own organizations. She desperately needs therapy. Of course, the show will go on without her at this point. This is BRAVO. Not some 5 and dime public access channel. lol!

I had to come off of sabbatical to deal with this issue.
After reviewing the above clip, I am thoroughly appalled at Mrs. NeNe Leakes, the loud and autocratic member of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta (V-103’s Wanda Smith says it should actually be the Real Housewives of Duluth).
I brought her book and want a refund. I could not get passed the first chapter. She disses her aunt (who allowed her azz to stay in her house when NeNe was younger) by referring to her aunt’s house as small. She said that she knew that she would be successful. She told her dolls that she was better than Janet Jackson and that she was diva. I think she opened [her book] with picking a fight with cast members from another Real Housewives show. That was all I could stomach.
NeNe WAS my favorite Housewife. However, notoriety has gone to her head. She thinks she is a STAR just because she is famous for embodying ever stereotype launched against Black women – loud, baby mama, alcoholic, overbearing, hardcore, uneducated, bad attitude, ugly, ghetto etc. White folks (especially racist white folks) are loving her azz right about now because her antics have set the Civil Rights Movement back two hundred years. I fought them (racist white folks) for creating this monster.
You know you are ridiculous when a drag queen (V-103’s Mr. Sophia) calls you a “dude” and wants you to get your azz beat.
NeNe, you are ridiculous. And please do not call another person “ghetto”. Remember for every one finger you are pointing at someone while calling them “ghetto” there are three pointing back at you. You are both ghetto and country (bama) and that is a hell of a combination.

Laughing how dumb mf’s like y’all believe the show is real. Remember they’re getting paid regardless. So take y’all broke asses to work. This woman is a downright bully and she is an abusive woman. Not once has this woman ever apologized for any of her behavior, yet everyone always owes Nene an apology. How is that possible. The anger inside this woman from feeling unloved is boiling over in her and because she felt that the public loved her last season it blew her head up. She is now beside herself trying to manipulate the public into believing that this season was all at the hands of bravo. I fear if Bravo does not get rid of this woman, someone is going to get hurt. What upsets me the most is that this woman advocates domestic violence all the while whether it be on the show or in interviews she threatening people around her. wtf??? I think instead of doing another season or trying to get work to pay your bills, she should head right over to therapy for anger management and with the few last dollars please, please buy some bottom teeth. Your killing me with that horse mouth. Thankfully America will forget about this horse soon.

She was made to look like a villain because her attitude and behavior was that of a ******* villain. There’s no making her “look bad” when you can clearly see people talking to her in a calm tone and her just going off from the same continuous camera angle. You can see Kandi asking her to calm the hell down and she just kept it up. Maybe Nene should stop drinking so much and then she could remember what’s really happened and stop acting like a damn victim when she is the most annoying person on the show. Ghetto biotch.
