Former MTV executive, Terrance Dean is creating quite a stir on these mean internet streets. Apparently, Mr. Dean has written a tell-all documenting his life as a closeted homosexual working in the film and music industry and his relationships with other closeted homosexuals, which include popular film stars, rap artists, and music producers entitled Hiding in Hip Hop: On the Down Low in the Entertainment Industry–from Music to Hollywood.
Dean says he won’t name names (I assume for fear of his life)…but that hasn’t stopped the net from speculating. Check out this review of the book I came across today when I left the hood and ventured into the internet suburbs:
Check out Goldilocks R. Kelly’s new video for “Hairbraider”. I’m mad at myself for liking this song…but then the pied-piper has that effect on people. I’m just upset that he jacked Mario for his ish…but then again, Mario don’t care (White boys girls can’t braid can they? 😕 )
I like it…I really do! It’s definately a remix cause it sounds absolutely NOTHING like the original. Lil Wayne needs to drop the syrup while he’s recording and I guess now Beyonce is “Queen B”… Hmmmph, wait’ll I tell Lil Kim! 😕
“Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life.”
“A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts,” Star continued on. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman.”
Ummm… Star, you (like Terry McMillan) gave up your “dignity and grace” when you agreed to pretend that Al was straight. 😯 Next…
It’s now possible that Flavor Flav, Tyra Banks and maybe even my favorite detective, Caroline Mason could win an Emmy award! The Academy of Arts & Sciences recently announced that reality tv shows are now eligable for the Emmys!
A category recognizing “outstanding host for a reality or reality-competition program” was created by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and will be presented at the 60th annual Emmys in September.
The award recognizes that reality TV has become “an integral part of television and our culture,” John Shaffner, chairman and CEO of the TV academy, said in a statement Tuesday announcing the new honor. (Source)
Ok..Ok..I may have been stretching it a bit with Flav…but Caroline Mason, THAT woman is bound for stardom! 🙂
Juanita Bynum, the “Face of Domestic Violence” is taking her experience to TV’s “Divorce Court.” In episodes set to air Thursday and Friday of this week, Bynum observes and weighs in on a case involving domestic violence. Her husband, Thomas Weeks, who Bynum said “choked her, pushed her down, kicked and stomped her … until a bellman pulled him off of her” ~ will not be appearing on the show and is currently involved in violence and anger counseling as a condition of his sentence.
Bynum told Judge Lynn Toler — who hears cases on the syndicated show distributed by Twentieth Television — that she saw signs of trouble in her marriage to Thomas W. Weeks III before the Aug. 21 incident that ended in a physical altercation in a hotel parking lot outside of Atlanta.
“I was just trying to make it work because I don’t like losing relationships,” Bynum said. “All of this just kept getting swept under the rug … So you begin to adapt to a very wrong and very unhealthy marriage.”
