Welp… it doesn’t look like this Mo’Nique ‘Blackballing’ situation is going away anytime soon (at least not if she can help it).

In the ongoing saga over whether the Academy Award winning actress was ever offered the coveted role of Cookie Lyon on the hit Fox series ?Empire,? Mo?nique is back and this time… she’s pulled receipts!

Mo’Nique recently appeared on the SiriusXM radio show ?Sway in the morning,? where she told host Sway Calloway that last year, Daniels called her saying, ?You got the role, but you know, there?s some technical stuff ? I aint? never done TV before, so you gotta go through the technical part.?

Mo?Nique then produced proof of their conversation… printed-out emails she said were sent to her by Daniels? camp shortly after their conversation, asking her representatives to coordinate a screen test, before they later announced the deal was dead.

Mo’Nique & ‘Blackbird’ Cast Attend Atlanta Screening: Review of Her ‘Comeback’ Performance… (PHOTOS)

Academy Award winning actress/comedienne Mo’Nique attended a screening of her upcoming film ‘Blackbird’ in Atlanta last night (April 7, 2015).

The event, held at the Midtown Art Cinema ?was hosted by?RLJ Entertainment and Urban Movie Channel and several of Atlanta’s VIP, press & influencers were invited to preview the highly anticipated feature film, which was followed by a Q&A session with?executive producers Mo?Nique and Sidney Hicks, as well as cast members D. Woods, Torrey Laamar and Nikki Jane.

Ramona Debreaux (V103 radio personality) moderated the discussion about the film, which was?directed by Patrik-Ian Polk and stars Isaiah Washington, Julian Walker and Mo’Nique, in her first role?since winning the coveted Oscar.

Attendees included comedian Rodney Perry (Bounce TV), WNBA Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry, Dr. Heavenly Kimes (Bravo?s ?Married to Medicine?), Gary Hayes (DISH Nation/?Rickey Smiley Morning Show?), Meelah Williams (singer, TV One?s ?R&B Divas Atlanta?), Bobby V. and more.

I attended the event as well and since I promised that I would tell the truth about what I thought about the flick, I’m going to say this as politically correct as possible… *sigh*?if this is supposed to be Mo’Nique’s comeback film, she’s lost already.

Mo’Nique Preps for Onscreen Return in ‘Blackbird’ [OFFICIAL TRAILER]

Academy Award winning actress Mo’Nique has been in the news for quite a few months now as she battles rumors of being ‘blackballed’ in Hollywood, but now it’s time to show & prove with a new release.

Despite all of the nay-sayers, Mo’Nique & her husband, Sidney Hicks put their money and her acting skills behind their own project and are prepping for the release of ‘Blackbird,’ Mo’Niques first film since, Precious.

The film, starring Mo’Nique & Isaiah Washington, was shot a few months back in Mississippi.

??Blackbird? is a film about the choices people are forced to make as they struggle to figure out how to be themselves,? Hicks said.

?And why should just being who you are be a struggle? Since Mo?Nique won the Oscar, we have received a flood of scripts, but nothing captured our attention until Isaiah ? who we have a high level of respect for ? sent us ?Blackbird.’?

As the ‘blackballing’ saga continues between Mo’Nique and Lee Daniels, Gabourey Sidibe is finally breaking her silence on the matter.

Mo?Nique has been making the rounds since writing her Hollywood Reporter revealation about being blackballed (click HERE if you missed that) and at least one other actress she’s worked with has chimed in on her story.

Lee Daniels, director of The Butler and executive producer of the smash FoxTV hit Empire,? recently defended himself against accusations that he got actress/comedienne Mo?Nique blackballed from Hollywood after her Oscar win.

Daniels recently appeared spoke to CNN’s Don Lemon about the controversy surrounding Mo’Nique’s claims and explains how he simply asked Mo?Nique to play Hollywood politics during awards season, and she famously refused.

While Daniels praised Mo?Nique?s talents ? ?she?s brilliant, and I like working with brilliant people? ? Daniels said that the outspoken actress made numerous ?demands? during the awards campaign for Precious that damaged her own reputation.

Daniels also explains to Lemon how ‘reverse racism’ and Mo’Nique’s failure to thank crucial people during her Oscar speech sealed her fate. He also expressed that if his willingness to ‘play the game’ makes him a ‘sell-out’ then he’ll be selling out all the theaters (and going straight to the bank)!

But wait… there’s more! Mo’Nique also did the rounds responding to Lee’s claims and even revealed that he offered her the role of Cookie in Empire (*sigh).

Academy Award-winning actress Mo?Nique hasn’t been seen or heard from since she was ‘allegedly’ blackballed from Hollywood but her interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week certainly got her name in the news.

Since Mo’Nique’s candid interview, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph has decided to put in her 2 cents on the matter, offering her opinion during an appearance on ?Access Hollywood Live.?

“… there’s a whole lot of actors who are mean and terrible, but they work all the time,” Ralph said.

“It goes back to who likes you, who wants to be in your kind of crazy company. Who wants to give you money in hopes they’ll get something back on the return on your madness.

And sometimes you just need to shut up, sit there and look pretty.”

Ralph, who worked alongside the Mo?Nique on the ?90s television sitcom Moesha, is convinced that a comeback is still possible but feels that Mo’Nique has some work to do before that happens… like lose more weight.
