Usher has joined forces with Nas and Bibi Bourelly for a newly released song called “Chains.”
The artists address racial injustice and police brutality in the song’s visuals, which feature portraits of Black lives lost to police brutality, as well as their names, ages, and stories.
The video was released on Tidal earlier today and in the opening text, states: “While racial injustice keeps killing, society keeps looking away.”
From Travyon Martin to Sean Bell, the images presented serve as evidence of what Nas sums up in one succinct bar: “We’ve got a problem that needs to be solved.”

On the eve of releasing his latest single, Young Jeezy released an open-letter to his fans about social injustice, poverty, and the plight of being a Black man in America. The thought provoking letter is accompanied by Jeezy’s TM88 and Southside-produced song titled “God.”
As you know, 2015 marked the 10th anniversary of Jeezy’s Thug Motivation 101, so it’s definitely been a benchmark year for him.
In the letter, Jeezy (who signed the letter ‘Pastor Young’) preaches about several issues, including systemic racism, stating:
I would like to take this time to ADDRESS the Street Disciples and Congregation to express my concerns and frustrations on what’s going on in our communities all over the world today.
There’s a war going on, but you have to ask yourself, who is the enemy? We die to claim our streets and hoods when we don’t own as much as a mail box. That tells me one thing—If we all were on the same page and had the same cause, there is nothing in the world we can’t change or make happen.

Meet Dylann Storm Roof.
The 21 year old THUG (yeah I said it) posed for the mugshot above after he allegedly opened fire Wednesday night at a prayer meeting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, killing nine people.
Roof, was at the historic African-American church for about an hour, where he attended a prayer meeting with his eventual victims but sometime during the services, Roof decided he wanted to ‘kill Black people’ and began firing shots inside the place of worship to accomplish his mission.
[Sidebar: Talk about terrorism!! Now they want us scared to go to church. The devil is hella busy this week!]
