Talk shoe host Wendy Williams rocked a cute pair of Christian Louboutin’s last week when she was spotted at The W LOVE Hangover Ball at W Union Square in New York City?on November 28, 2012.
The media maven, who was the talk of the net recently when she shed quite a few pounds in order to shed her clothes for PETA, is now the talk of CHINA after she failed to pay a bill for 12,140 pairs of custom made shoes!!!
Full story + a message to Wendy from the factory workers below…
According to the EURWeb, Wendy and her husband Kevin Hunter, commissioned a china-based company to construct 12,140 pairs of shoes bearing her logo, and then refused to pay.
According to the company’s US Attorney, Staci Riordan of Los Angeles, Williams and her husband signed a contract last year to buy the shoes as part of Williams? ?Adorn? show line but never paid the bill; which now exceeds $419,000.
?Things don?t work in China the way they work in the United States,? Riordan said.
Due to Williams’ shirking the bill, factory workers have gone unpaid and havoc has been wreaked on the owners of?Max Harvest International Holding, the small manufacturing company.
But wait… it gets worse! The owners of the company ended up going?into hiding this month after one shoe factory owner who hadn?t been paid KIDNAPPED one of their managers in mainland China.
The man was held for two weeks before he was finally released shaken but unharmed. However the manufacturing firm?s owners, a businessman and his wife who do not want to be identified, have fled Hong Kong.
The company’s attorney says she has been trying for months to negotiate a settlement with Williams, but if things aren’t resolved soon, a lawsuit will be filed on behalf of the company in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Williams has yet to address the matter.
All I now is… those poor factory workers probably slaved day and night making those cheap “A”zz shoes. Y’all know there some really cheap labor costs overseas, so those with a bill that dayum high, those people probably slaved for for weeks or even months!
It’s a sad… sad… situation. Read more at the NY Daily News…
Wendy… please pay the people before somebody else gets kidnapped! 😯
