Last week, Tameka Raymond visited the Holiday Marina at Lake Lanier, the same lake where her 11 year old son,?Kile Glover, was killed in an unfortunate jet ski accident last Summer.

Tameka’s visit was clearly a bittersweet one. ? The grieving mother, who wore a shirt bearing her late son’s image, witnessed her hard work come to fruition as she watched Georgia Governor Nathan Deal sign SB 136 in to law (April 23, 2013).
[Sidebar: SB 136 was a bill that lowers the blood-alcohol content limit for boaters from the standard .10 to an .08, it also increases penalties for those caught boating while intoxicated. The legislation also serves to better educate the public on boater safety and guidelines.]

In honor of what would have been her son Kile Glover’s 12th birthday, Tameka held a celebratory launch party for the non-profit foundation created in his honor.
“Kile?s World Foundation” will offer art-based camps with multiple workshops including general instruction in the areas of acting, singing, dance, painting, illustration, music production and digital media.
It is also Tameka’s hopes to eventually open a magnet school with an emphasis on music and the arts in Kile’s honor.

Many of Kile’s family members and friends showed up to the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta to support the event and several pieces of the gifted pre-teen’s original art work was on display for all to admire.
Attendees included: All of Kile’s brothers, his cousin Lake (Usher’s brother’s daughter), Sabrina Rowe & Sherlinda Parker (Big Rich Atlanta), Atlanta radio personality Frank Ski, Quad (Married to Medicine) and more.
Noticeably absent? Usher Raymond and Ryan Glover (Kile’s father).

Hubbard is the jet ski operator/friend of the family who allegedly collided with?Tameka Raymond?&?Ryan Glover?s son, Kile at Lake Lanier last summer.
Kile and his father, Ryan Glover, were vacationing at the lake July 4th weekend when Hubbard’s personal watercraft crashed into the boy’s raft. ?Kile subsequently died of heart failure at an Atlanta hospital July 21, 2012 at the age of 11 years old.

Jordan Shepp, a family friend & daughter of Peaches Chin (Kandi Burruss’ TAGS Boutique buisness partner), was tubing with Kile that day and suffered injuries as well. ?Shepp survived the accident with?a severe injury to her left arm and her scalp was ?seriously disfigured,? requiring multiple sutures.
Glover?s death and other accidents and injuries on Lake Lanier sparked legislative scrutiny of boating regulations, resulting in new boating safety regulations.
Hubbard faced a judge earlier this week on charges stemming from both Kile’s death and Jordan’s injuries in the crash and entered a plea of ‘not guilty’ to all charges.
