President Barack Obama delivered his annual State of The Union Address last night (January 28, 2014).
During his speech, Obama identified areas where he felt he and Congress could work in unison while also making note of issues that distinguished the Democrats from the Republicans.

In illustrating a willingness to act on his own, Obama also announced that he will sign an executive order increasing the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 for new federal contracts and encouraged the private sector to do the same.
