Former Atlanta television anchor Amanda Davis was recently put on the spot by V-103’s Wanda Smith of the Ryan Cameron Morning Show.

Davis, who retired from her top anchor spot after obtaining several DUI arrests, paid a visit to the popular morning show to promote her CBS46 three-part special which focuses on her alcohol addiction and depression.

While Cameron played nice, Smith was given the task of ‘keeping it real’ with Davis.? A task which Wanda certainly took to heart as she blasted the embattled anchor live on-air about showing up for a previous interview inebriated.

Amanda Davis On Record About Her Addiction And Road To Recovery: The RCMS w/ Wanda Smith

In her first interview since her 2015 DUI scandal, Amanda Davis opens up with V-103’s? Ryan Cameron and Wanda Smith about her struggle with alcoholism and depression.

In the video above, Davis gets grilled by Wanda Smith who confronts her fellow media cohort with a bit of ‘tough love,’ stating:

??I was one of those people who was very very very upset with you.?

Wanda admits she was psyched to hear that Davis was returning to TV as an anchor last year, but when she heard about Davis? third DUI, she was utterly disappointed!

?I was really mad with you because I felt that you had chance after chance after chance and I?m thinking to myself, ?This is a very smart lady. Very smart lady.? And I didn?t understand the part that you didn?t go and get the help but you let us on that you were going back to work and everything was fine. But that just wasn?t the case.?

Smith also asks Davis about her visit to the station last June where she spoke about her return on air at CBS46.? It seems that Wanda recalls Davis being drunk during the interview and calls her out about it!

?But remember the morning you sat in here? When you left here, I looked at Ryan, I said, ?I think Amanda was a little toasty this morning.?

In my heart… I looked in your eyes. You were happy but I felt like you were drinking that morning. That?s when I got angry. I got upset.? They keep giving her chance after chance.?

Davis wasn’t ready for that and you could tell by the look on her face! She responds with:

I have never been on the air or made a public appearance after drinking.

That?s not the drinker I am. I care too much about my job to jeopardize it in that way. This job is hard enough and stressful enough to be under the influence trying to pull that off.?? So I don?t know how you got that impression.

But wait… that’s not all.? Davis continues:

Secondly, you said I got chance after chance? Umm? no, I didn?t.? I got ONE chance after the first DUI in the 1990s.?? And then I retired in 2013 and Channel 46 called me in 2015.? So I didn?t get ‘chance after chance’.

As I mentioned, I wasn?t aware I had a problem or to acknowledge or ask for help. It wasn?t until the third DUI and those lights came on and it clicked in my head I had a problem.
