In Georgia, ‘felony theft’ occurs “if the stolen property is valued at $5,000.00 but less than $25,000.00,’ the crime is punished as a felony and punishment is normally imprisonment of at least 1 year but not more than 10 years.
That being said, Jones has been indicted by a Grand Jury of FELONY THEFT after stealing 131 pairs of women’s drawls (yes “DRAWLS”! aka PANTIES… UNDIES!) from a local WalMart store.
According to the AJC:
The Cobb County Grand Jury has indicted a woman accused of stealing 131 underwear garments from a WalMart store.
Julia Marie Jones of Jasper was arrested in June after she allegedly tried to conceal the underwear, worth $749.95, in her purse, a handbag and grocery bags. The alleged theft happened at the Kennesaw store located on Cobb Parkway, her arrest warrant stated.
Jones, then 22, was charged with felony theft by shoplifting and booked into the Cobb jail. She was later released after posting $5,000 bond, jail records showed.
I don’t know why this is so funny to me but it is.? Ole girl’s bail was higher than the dayum panties she stole!
I mean… if you’re gonna get busted for pocketing panties, AT LEAST hit up La Perla! Even Victoria Secrets woulda gave her a hall pass from me… BUT WALMART??? I can’t even begin to imagine how full her purse was!!
