Mary Jane is having a little too much fun on the dating scene these days and during these last few episodes, it seems that her longtime love David is merely a distant memory.
This week, MJ and her group of professional friends aka ‘the anchorettes,’ share a girl’s night out at their new favorite hot spot. The ladies share war stories about how hard it is for professional women to find serious relationships and they all agree that ‘cutty buddies’ are the way to go these days.
As they end the evening, Mary Jane encounters the caucasion mystery man she swapped spit with last week and she decides that she wants more. Viewers are treated to the background music of ‘Drop That Kitty‘ while MJ and her club hookup go for round two.
This time, the two actually have a conversation (gasp) and Mr. YT man suggests they move to a less public location, but MJ keeps it classy by turning down his offer.
The day after Mary Jane’s club encounter, SNC sends over a stylist.
MJ is getting?the celebrity treatment with a rack full of designer duds to choose from, and she gets a text from ‘Cutty Buddy’ her footballer boy toy. He wants to get together.
As MJ is pondering her response, her new stylist gives Mary Jane a bit of advice about how to handle a NSA (No Strings Attached) relationship, stating:
It’s all about timing… late enough that you don’t have to feed him, but not so late that you’re yawning. Nobody wants to waste their gas on a lazy lay.
Awesome advice….
It’s no secret that Kara isn’t feeling Marisol, the sexy new Latin anchor that almost stole Mary Jane’s spot. ?Now that MJ has reclaimed her position, it seems Marisol is after Kara’s.
Kara doesn’t thing Marisol deserves to be at SNC because she was only hired to fulfill a quota and has little to no experience in their field. ?She’s also annoyed that Marisol flaunts her sexuality and feels she isn’t a good role model to other Latinas.
“Do you want them to buy a book, or some crotchless panties? Make a choice!’ – Kara
“He is not my boo… he’s just someone I do.” – Mary Jane
?Cutty Buddy,? Mary Jane?s football friend returns to reclaim his throne as king of MJ’s ‘kitty kat’ and the pair share another steamy love scene. As MJ hits the bathroom to bask in the afterglow of getting her back blown out, ‘Cutty Buddy’ is foaming at the mouth in her bed.
Mary Jane finds him in the midst of a seizure and has no clue what to do. Fortunately, the seizure subsides and ‘Cutty Buddy’ recovers with MJ by his side to calm his nerves.
Unfortunately, now Mary Jane feels ‘some kinda way’ about her boy toy as she explains to Kara that ‘seizures aren’t sexy’ and how she had to stay up with her boy toy all night as he recovered.
[Sidebar: Hold up. ?Wait! Didn’t ‘Cutty Buddy’ stick around?when MJ’s face was disfigured? That couldn’t have possibly been too sexy either. ?But I digress.]
Mark gets caught up in a gossip scandal as photos of him frolicking with a male friend in a parking lot hit the net. Mary Jane tries to convince him that it’s nothing to be stressed about, stating that ‘blog news isn’t real news,’ but Mark reminds her that ‘gossip and public opinion is more powerful than truth these days’…. (hmmm… interesting!)
Whatever the case, while Mark feels like it’s the end of his professional career, he’s surprised to learn that SNC wants to make him the ‘face’ of the gay agenda.
Mark doesn’t even consider the offer and decides to quit (after all, he’s a professional political journalist) and Mary Jane is given the charge to convince him to return.
As Mark confides in Mary Jane about his journalistic ambitions to travel into war-torn territories, she isn’t very supportive of his dreams. ?MJ seems to feel that Mark should take SNC up on it’s offer and ‘live a little’… perhaps leave the ‘serious’ issues to other journalists while reaping all the benefits.
“I may be a sell-out but I’m finally getting what I want.” – Mary Jane
Is it me? Or has Mary Jane lost her compassion?? Mark was there for her through her career issues, but she’s totally lacking in support during his trying time. ‘Cutty Buddy’ was there for her while she was going through her recovery period, and yet, she’s repulsed by his health issues.
I predict Karma’s gonna come back to bite her on the ass pretty soon…
