Meet Dr. Fitzgerald McQueen.? Dr. McQueen, 50, a fifth grade teacher, was all smiles when he posed in his school photo, but the crime he’s accused of committing proves he’s quite serious when it comes to his daughter.
McQueen was arrested after allegedly shooting his ninth grade daughter’s 18 year old boyfriend, who he found chillin with his daughter at their home after 3am.

Dr Fitzgerald McQueen, 50, has been charged with first-degree assault after Jaizon Collins – who is dating the teacher’s ninth grade daughter – was shot in the chest at 3am yesterday.
McQueen discovered Collins inside his home in Harvest, Alabama, where he shot the 18 year old boy. Collins was taken to Huntsville Hospital and is expected to recover.
Police have not released the age of McQueen’s daughter – however, she is a high school freshman.
Investigators say McQueen’s daughter, a minor, was in a ‘dating relationship’ with Collins, who was celebrating his 18th birthday when he was shot.
Collins’s mother, Tasha Edards said her son was doing well after the shooting and is expected to make a full recovery.

Dear Parents,
I know many of you have been following the news story about a shooting that took place last night in Harvest. The alleged shooter is Dr. Fitzgerald McQueen, a fifth grade teacher at Heritage.
We have been in contact with the Madison County Sheriff?s department. They informed us that Dr. McQueen has been charged with first degree assault. The sheriff?s office is working with the Madison County District Attorney?s office and there is an ongoing investigation. Since this is an active investigation, I cannot comment on this terrible situation except to say that Dr. McQueen has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Short term solutions for Dr. McQueen?s classes have been set into motion and long term plans are being made. Dr. Nelson, the principal at Heritage, is committed to providing the best solution to these challenges and working to ensure that there are no gaps in teaching and learning. She will be sending an email to the parents of Heritage Elementary School students later today.
