The 42-year-old political figure often makes appearances at social functions around town and appears to be living the single life that every Atlanta bachelor dreams of.
Reed has been flying solo all of his life and has never jumped the broom… but at last weekend, the confirmed bachelor hinted in an on air interview that he may actually be married by the end of his term.
News of Reed’s impending nuptials may come as a shock to many since he’s been linked to a bevy of beauties, but it appears one in particular may have finally landed that special place in his heart.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and take a wild guess about WHO she is…
Mayor Reed attended the 28th Annual UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball last December with a stunning beauty on his arm.
The young lady is no stranger to the camera, in fact Sarah-Elizabeth Langford (Liz to her close friends) is a 33 year old beauty queen who competed at both Miss America and Miss USA pagents.
Langford grew up in Atlanta and her linkage to the Mayor shouldn’t be too surprising being that her father, Arthur Langford, Jr., was once an Atlanta city councilman and Georgia state senator.
If you’re from Atlanta his name may ring familiar in that the Lakewood Freeway (166) was renamed the Arthur Langford, Jr. Memorial Parkway in honor of Langford, who passed away in 1994. There is also an Arthur Langford Park and a street, Arthur Langford, Jr. Place in southeast Atlanta.
Reed and Langford have dated off and on for several years now but it appears they’ve been on for most of 2011.
The couple were spotted taking in live music at Chastain Park last Summer (above), attended the Bronze Lens festival together last November and in December 2011, made a stunning appearance at the Masked Ball where they were serenaded by crooner Keith Sweat!
Awww how romantic! 🙂
This is merely my assessment of the situation, so any of Reed’s jumpoffs who are feeling some kinda way, please keep their feelings in check!
Reed is clearly single… but if he’s planning to settle down, shouldn’t it be with the one he’s not embarrassed to take to public functions?
I’ll hold off on congratulating the couple until we see an engagement ring. In the meantime…. date ON Mr. Mayor!
