Rapper T.I. has been the talk of the town since saving a suicidal 22 year old man who was threatening to jump from a 22-story building.

Although he’s received praise from the masses, it’s also been speculated that Tip’s heroic actions were too much of a coincidence. Especially in light of his upcoming court appearance where he’s facing possible jail time on probation violation charges after being arrested in LA this summer.
Tip says that he was in his car headed to his video shoot and God led him to offer a hand in that young man’s fate. The help he gave police in preventing that suicide jump Wednesday had absolutely nothing to do with his court hearing Friday.

Something in me just said do it. My heart moved me to do it. Some people might say it was God that led me to do it.
Everybody’s congratulating me and patting me on the back but I tell them straight up man… listen man. God did all the work, I just showed up.
This isn’t anything that I could have ever planned, that I could have orchestrated, or that I could have even conceivably done myself. I just was put in a position to help somebody and I’m happy that it was able to be resolved in a positive light.
An officer at street level recorded a video message from T.I. and sent it to a negotiator on the roof, who showed it to the 24-year-old man. T.I. said the message simply stated “that no matter what’s going on in life now, it gets better…. believe me. I know.”
The man came down and Tip offered more encouraging words in person. The man was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for evaluation and police say he will not face charges.
I personally believe Tip and although he says that this will have no bearing on his probation violation hearing, I’m really hoping it does.
